Lukes Surprise

Maddie's pov
Luke turns down onto a dirt road. We are in the middle of nowhere and I'm getting worried. I don't like driving places where I don't know where we are going. It makes me nervous. He looks at me and smiles and I start shaking.

"Luke. Where are we going?" I ask him nervously.

"Somewhere special. Don't worry princess," he says calmly.

I try to relax a bit but it's a little hard. After about five minutes of driving on this road Luke pulls over. He takes out the keys and opens his door. When he gets out of the car he locks the doors so I can't get out. My eyes widen but Luke runs to the other side of my car. He unlocks the door and opens it.

"Princess," he says waving for me to take his hand and get out of the car.

My phone starts buzzing and I grab it out of my back pocket. I press the home screen button and the familiar bright light shines showing I have 5 picture messages. I open them and see they're of me and Luke cuddling this morning. Two are from Ariana. Two from Claudia and one from Ashton. I groan and shut off my phone. Luke parks in front of a cabin and I stare at him with a confused look. He smiles at me and gets out of the car to run all the way around. He opens the door for me and smirks.

"Come with me princess. I'll protect you," he says with his head held high.

He holds his hand out for me to grab it and I laugh grabbing his hand. He pops open the trunk and grabs out a bag and my suitcase. Uh what? When was that put in there? Luke grabs my hand and pulls me and the bags with him towards the cabin. Beside it, there's a forest and behind it there's a lake.

"Where are we Hemmings?" I say pulling away.

"We are at a family friends Cabin. There's a Lake behind it and there's forest area everywhere. But please don't run away you can get eaten by a bear or something and then I won't be able to move on," he rants and then looks at the ground.

I look at him with one eye brow raised  and he continues pulling me into the cabin. When he closes the door his face lights up but then he gets awkward. He stands there and I pull my hand away. After about a minute I get fed up.

"What's wrong Hemmings?" I ask him annoyed.

"Uhh.. There's only one bedroom," he says rubbing the back of his neck.

"Welp. Guess you're sleeping on the couch," I say laughing.

"Ouch," he replies.

I roll my eyes and walk around. This place is cool. I turn to look at Luke.

"Is this your run away place?" I ask him.

"Uh sometimes. If I wanna get stuff off my mind I'll come here and stare at the water," he rubs the back of his neck.

"Can we have a fire?" I ask him looking at the marshmallows in the cupboard.

"Sure!" He replies excitedly.

I grab the marshmallows and a root beer from in the fridge. Luke waves for me to follow him out the door and I do. He walks all the way to a patio that has a fire pit on it. Cool. He sets up a 'Tipi' with wood for the fire and I grab a seat in the lawn chair. I open up my root beer and Luke sets the wood on fire. I smile at the slowly burning fire then watch as the blonde boy who was once in front of me sits down next to me. He takes his hand and caresses my hair softly. I smile and slap his hand.

"You've got a death wish. Never touch my hair bro," I say trying to sound scary.

"Aight princess," he raises his hands up in the air.
