Ava's pov.

"Ava, I'm not sure I want you to move up before Mia and at the same time as Sadie." "WHAT MOM WHY" I screech. "I have to buy a new dress for Sadie and now you... It's just too much money we don't have. And it's not fair to Mia if you move up and she doesn't get to" "But mom it's not my fault... She's never gonna move up if I don't." I protest. "I don't need a new dress right now. I thought we got these dresses so they could last through prelim? And Kelly really wants me too." "I guess I can't hold you back because of Mia but I don't want you moving into open before she's in prelim." I laugh "don't worry mom that won't happen anytime soon." "Don't be so sure sweetie. Okay you can go in, I have to look for dresses for Sadie. I have a few in mine but I need to actually decide on one now..." "Night mom" I kiss her on the cheek and go inside.

Me and Mia share a room and it's actually in the basement and we have a section closed off for practicing and no surprise Mia is practicing again. She never stops so everyone thinks she's more dedicated because of that. I'm dedicated too but in a different way... My dad comes down and tucks us in and I fall asleep dreaming of the feeling of holding a trophy on the podium at the feis.

Mia's POV

"Mia, can you practice with me until it's time for me to go to bed?" Sadie asks. She's really determined now to do well at her first prizewinner Feis, and I wanna practice as well to keep improving and to get outta prizewinner.
"Sure, Sade!" I exclaim and together we walk down to the basement.
"Ok I'll do my jig first, then you can do yours." She says and she begins dancing. Sadie's the kinda girl who's naturally talented, and she's fast at picking up choreography, and all. She's also more of a soft shoe girl, like me. Ava's more of the hard shoe girl because she has good rhythm. My rhythm is pretty bad, but I'm working on it!

20 minutes into our practicing session, dad comes down to take Sadie upstairs to bed.
"I'll come back down when Ava comes inside to tuck you both in, but I've gotta take Sadie up because it's getting late." Dad says. I just keep practicing and thinking how I need to be amazing at the Feis.

I'm still practicing when Ava FINALLY comes into the house. She throws herself into our room (yeah we share a room and it's in the basement, but we also have the practice area down there so life's good). Wonder what mom just talked to her about. Before I can ask, dad comes downstairs again and tucks us in.
"Goodnight, Ava." I whisper into the darkness. But there's no answer. I sit up and look over at her bed across the room, and I notice that she's already asleep.
