"I want you to marry me."
"W-what?" I broke the hug, shocked, and took a few steps back.
"Don't make me repeat myself."
"B-but this is too sudden," I stammered. "I'm n-not even of legal age to get m-married."
"That's not a problem. I know someone who can look the other way if needed."
"B-but—"
"Enough with the buts," he said, stepping closer and making me retreat. "I don't want to wait any longer. I want to make you mine."
"E-everyone in the village knows I'm your stepsister. W-we can't just get married like this." I tried to ground him in reality, but it wasn't working.
"Then we'll move out of this village," he said, firmly grabbing my hand and dragging me to the car.
"W-where are we going?" I asked, distressed.
"Home. We need to start packing."
I couldn't believe it. He was insane. I tried to stay calm, to think things through, to form a plan before we got home.
"Raiden," I said softly.
"What?" he asked, clearly not in the mood to talk.
I gathered all my courage and continued.
"Please understand something. I'm only seventeen. You're ten years older than me. It's natural that we see life differently. Marriage, for me, is something extremely serious. I need time to mentally prepare."
"Do you love someone else?" he asked bluntly, making me flustered.
"N-no. Why would you ask that?"
"Then why do you need time?"
"B-because I'm still young. I'd like to finish school or at least have time to say goodbye to my friends, if we really have to leave. If you let me do that, I'll marry you."
Raiden took a few moments to think. I could see he didn't want to wait.
"You have one week. I'll take care of the legal stuff. Don't try to run or do anything suspicious. I don't need to remind you...I can make a call, and your sister will be kidnapped."
"I understand. T-thank you for giving me time to prepare."
I stepped out of the car. Raiden drove off, tires squealing, smoke trailing behind him as he disappeared down the road.

"Watch Hinata for the week. I want to know everything, where she goes, who she sees, what she does."
