Chapter 48: Severed Bonds (Part 01)

Claire sat at the foot of Lycan's bed. The alpha was sound asleep but in his hand was her cell phone. He took it so that she couldn't warn her sister about the twins. Not that she was worried about them finding her. They tried to find her once before but they couldn't. Now, they are checking vampire territory. Like her and Raven would use a cave in vampire territory to hide. That wouldn't be smart. They'll never find her. Still, if the twins were looking for her sister then it's possible the vampire's are looking for Angel. She had no idea what their tracking abilities were like. Also, she saw her phone was blinking. She got a text message most likely from Brandon. She got it while Lycan was sleeping.

Claire carefully reached for her phone attempting not to wake him. He turned over coveting her phone. She growled in response. There has to be some way to get her phone back. He can't just steal her phone just because he suspects her of being a traitor. I mean it's logical but still it's her cell phone. He can't just take her cell phone. "I need to see that message," She rose to her feet. The moment she moved, Lycan let out a yawn and rose up.

"Going somewhere?" Lycan asked her. "Like I told you, I'm not letting you out of my sight, sit." He pointed down as if he were commanding some dog. Claire growled and sat back down on the bed.

"You know if you were this alert while my sister was dating you. She wouldn't have been able to cheat on you with a vampire. Just saying," Claire crossed her arms and legs pouting, "This is bullshit and you know it. What's the point of being in this pack if I'm being watched by everyone all the time? It's like I'm a prisoner not a pack member."

"That's because you are a prisoner." Lycan answered. "Now shut up, I'm trying to sleep." He rested on his back, his head on the pillow and his right hand still holding her cell phone. "You know if you're so curious about who's messaging you. You could just tell me your password and I'll check your messages for you. I mean, it's not like you have anything to hide right?" He offered.

"No, I have nothing to hide, I just ugh-," Claire blushed. "I enjoy my privacy, that's all." She also didn't want Lycan knowing she's getting texts from her vampire boyfriend. That would create a huge problem. She heard another ding, great another text that she can't check. This is torture. "Know what, I think I'll go take a bath. At least then I'll get some privacy, can I have my phone in case something happens?" She asked.

"Of course, I'll just give it to Alexis. She'll be going with you." Lycan replied, Claire's jaw dropped. She can't even bathe by herself. He clapped and Alejandro answered the door. "Could you tell our Omega to come here?" Alejandro nodded and left. Within seconds, Alexis came into Lycan's cabin.

"Yes, Leader Lycan." Alexis fixed her hair. Claire glared at her and she glared back. Of course, she'd be sent to bathe with the one girl she hates more than anything. "So, is there anything you need help with?"

"Here," Lycan handed her Claire's cell phone. "Claire wants to go to the stream for a bath. I want you to go with her. Don't let her use her phone unless she gives you the password. She's trying to outsmart me but as you can see it's not working." Claire growled.

"Okay sure, I'll gladly hold onto her phone for you." Alexis shoved Claire's phone in her pocket. "Let's go bitch," She grabbed Claire's arm and walked her to her tent so that she could grab her stuff to bathe. "Hurry up, I don't have all day."

"Would you mind letting me have my phone for just a little-," Alexis flicked her on the nose for asking. "Ou, look, you're a girl, so you understand how difficult it is to go without your cell phone. Just imagine not being able to check in on Jay."

"I don't need to, I trust him. It's you I don't trust. Now shut up, bear trap." Alexis pushed her back into the tent. Claire grabbed her stuff and came out of her tent.
