Finally I can see his eyes, a soft green with a touch of brown. HAZEL!

"Hey I'm Carter. I just started working here yesterday, but I would've remembered such a pretty face if you were here." He says in a flattering way

I can't help blushing because a cute boy just called me pretty!!!! I don't usually get compliments from cute boys because I'm sort of geeky with my boring straight blonde hair, my thick lens glasses(I am practically blind), and my acne, which I try to hide with a bit of concealer. What do I say back to him? Accept the compliment? Compliment him back? Why is this so hard!? Finally I work up the courage.

" Hi I'm Maya. I've worked here for about a year now. How about I show you the ropes?"

"That sounds good. You lead the way." He answers with a half smile and motions forwards.

We walk over to the surfboards that are in for repair. Carter picks one up and puts it on the sandy ground. He hops on top of the board not noticing the crack in the side. The crack grows bigger and I hear a loud crunching noise. The board broke into two! He jumps off and has a look of terror on his face. It just cracks me up the way he looks scared shitless. I start laughing and he looks at me and joins in on the laughter. We just keep laughing and slowly walk away like nothing happened.

When it was finally lunch time we took our break at the same time. We walked along the beach looking for a place to eat. We found a little shack that sells hot dogs and slushies. I get a hot dog with mustard and ketchup and he gets the same. We also both get blue slushies. We walk along the beach some more, eating our hot dogs and drinking our slushies looking out at the beautiful water with sand between our toes. Can this day get any better?
