CHAPTER 8
Pagkagising ko kinaumagahan ay wala na ang parents ko sa bahay. I'm used to it, they just come and go na para bang wala silang anak na inaalala.
I prepared myself and after an hour, I'm ready to go. Babalik kami sa site ngayon dahil ngayon na opisyal na sisimulan ang project. I don't even know kung anong irereason ko sa aming mga kasamahan kung bakit bigla na lang kaming nawala kahapon.
"Manang Flor, Ate Jean, baka hindi po ako makakauwi mamaya. May mga adjustments po kasi kaming ginawa sa project kaya po madalang na po akong makakauwi." pagpapaalam ko sa kanila bago ako makalabas ng pintuan ng bahay.
"Sige iha. Basta mag-ingat ka lalo na sa pagmamaneho. Madulas pa naman ang kalsada." ani Manang Flor. Nung madaling-araw pa kasi hindi tumitigil ang pag-ulan dito sa KaMaynilaan. Wala namang bagyo ayon sa balita.
"Opo, alis na po ako." sabi ko at tuluyan nang umalis ng bahay patungong garahe.
Before starting the engine, I checked my phone first and I've 2 unread messages and a missed call.
I first checked kung sino ang tumawag sa akin. It was Renz and the call was at 6:30 am, by that time I was just taking my shower.
The first message was from Renz.
From: Boss Renz
Good morning kitten!
Take care on your way to Tagaytay.
I'll try to visit when I'm free. :)
I pressed the reply button and started typing a message.
To: Boss Renz
Good morning too. Yeah, I'll be safe don't worry.
Wag ka na muna bumisita tutal magsisimula pa lang kami. I know your schedule is kinda hectic, wag kang mag-alala boss yakang-yaka namin yun.
I opened the other message and it was from Eric.
From: Engineer Eric Alleje
Good morning.
Aba ang tipid namang magtext ng mokong. I just replied to him.
To: Engineer Eric Alleje
'Good morning din Eric.' ang una kong nilagay then I changed it to
'Good morning din Engineer.' for some formality.
Inilapag ko muna sandali ang aking telepono sa may passenger seat bago ko buhayin ang makina.
After a while, my phone beeped again. I was hoping for a reply from the person who I texted last.
To my dismay, it came from the other one.
From: Boss Renz
Okay:( I'll just see you when you're home.
I pressed the the reply button using my right hand and started typing, while my left hand was holding on to the stirring wheel.
To: Boss Renz
Yep:) I'll just text you later when I'm already in Tagaytay. I'm driving.
I was about to put my phone in the seat again when it beeped.
From: Engineer Eric Alleje
Are you on your way or are you still in your house?
Naging aligaga naman ako nang magtext ang taong kanina ko pa hinihintay magreply. A smile formed in my lips. Hindi ko na muling binitawan ang aking cellphone after I replied that I am already on my way.
