Well, maybe I lost in translation,
Maybe I asked for too much,
But maybe this thing was a masterpiece 'til you tore it all up.
Running scared , I was there,
I remember it all to well.
CHAPTER 2
"Good morning Miss De Leon." bati ng guard sa akin.
"Good morning din po Manong." Nginitian ko naman siya at dumiretso na patungong elevator.
Nakarating din naman ako agad sa aking opisina at sinimulan na ang aking trabaho. May bago kaming kliyente kaya naman puspusan ang ginagawa naming pagpapaimpress, lalo na't kilala ang kompanya ni Mr. Wong na isa rin sa mga billionaire sa mundo.
Nasa kalagitnaan ako ng aking trabaho nang biglang may kumatok.
"Come in." I said without looking kung sino yun.
"Busy much?" Okay. My big boss is here .
"Oh? What brought you here Sir?" Umupo siya sa tapat ko at nangalumbaba sa mesa.
"Cara, we've got a big problem." Tinignan ko siya nang may pagtataka.
"Ano naman yun?"
"Engineer Ventura backed out." Aniya with so much disappointment in his voice.
"What?" Napatayo ako sa aking kinauupuan.
" We had our meeting yesterday and it seems like wala naman siyang problema sa plano. Bakit daw Renz?"
" He'll be leaving for US. His grandfather died last night, and maybe he'll be staying there for good that's why he gave up this project." Honestly, I've never seen Renz this serious. Pagdating talaga sa trabaho o sa business nag-iiba siya.
" What's your plan then? How about other engineers?" I asked.
" They have their own projects by now and just like your team, bigtime din ang mga clients nila. And hindi dapat tayo mag-hire ng basta-basta. "
"Kung yun lang din pala ang basehan mo, bakit nga pala ako nandito? Bakit mo ko sinama sa project na to?" I asked him frankly. Eh sa totoo naman eh, we both know that I lack in experience yet isa ako sa mga pinagbigyan niya ng project na ito.
" Cara, I gave you this project kasi alam kong kaya mo. Don't underestimate yourself. You're more than enough for this team. " Then he smied at me. Napangiti din tuloy ako. Tsk, bolero eh.
"Sige sabi mo eh. So pano na nga? May naisip ka na bang solusyon?"
"The least I can think is to hire a new one. Pero gaya nga ng sabi ko, we need a well-experienced one. " Seryosong saad niya.
"Okay but Renz we need to find ASAP."
" I know that Miss Architect, I've already called some of my friends in college. Nagbabasakaling may mai-suggest sila. You should contact some of your friends too. I know you have some engineer friends out there." Then he winked at me, he's teasing me again.
"I've lost my connection to them 2 years ago, Mister." Sabi ko at inirapan siya. He just laughed at me dahil sa sinabi ko.
" Napaghahalataan ka babe. Bitter pa din?" Arghh! This guy! Alam niya talaga kung paano sirain ang mood ko.
"Umalis ka na nga Renz. Sinisira mo concentration ko." Sabi ko at muli kong tinuon ang atensyon sa aking ginagawa.
"Uy! Affected siya." Muli ko siyang tinignan and threw dagger look towards him.
