Chapter 19

                    I got to the hospital and Zack was sitting in the hallway and I asked what happened and why he wasn't in the room and he told me that Heather crash and they were taking her up to emergency surgery if they were able to resuscitation her, we sat there for ten minutes until the doctor came out and said they were taking her up to emergency surgery now and he said we could wait in the waiting room and he would have a nurse come and get us when they got Heather back in there room. I called Jim and let him know what was going on and he didn't pick up so I left a voicemail for him. I text William to let him know and he said that the department was going to be holding a candlelight prayer for Heather and that I need to be there, I ask him what time and why, he told me I needed to be there at 5pm and that the mayor wanted me there so I text back and said that I would be there. Zack was tired and fell asleep sitting in the chair next to me so I got on my phone and seen the news articles that was going around it everyone is calling Heather a hero and everyone. I just put my phone away when the doctor came over and said Heather surgery was successful and they had her back into the room, I asked the doctor if they know when she would be out of the coma and the doctor said he was going was wait a week to two weeks until he took her out of the coma, I ask if he know if there was any damage done, and he said not until she woke and that if she would. He said that a nurse would come out to get us when they got her into the room. I woke Zack up and let him know what was going on, it was 4 and I said I had to head to the station, and he said that was fine and that he would stay, he asked if it was ok if he went home and got a shower and something to eat and I said yes, that I was going to stay for ten minutes and I told him to let me know when he got back. I also told him that the department was going to hold candlelight prayer if he wanted to go and he said that he was going to watch it on TV right now he just wanted to be here with Heather and I told that was fine. Zack left and I sat down, and a nurse came over and said Heather was in her room, I went over and told her to come back to us that our children and I need her. I kiss her forehead and told the nurse station that Zack would be back in an hour, and they said that was fine that they would call if there was a change. I grab my bag and went home and told Laura I need to grab my uniform and asked if she needed anything and she said no, I went over a gave Addison and Aiden a hug and told Laura if she need anything to let me know. I got to the station and went to locker room and got change, Jim came in and was already in his uniform. I told him it would only take me a few minutes to get ready, and he said they would be waiting in the front of the building for me. I finishing getting ready and Jim and I walked out to the front, and they had it all set up. William told us to sit up in front, and we sat where we were told to, it was quiet until William started to speak to the reporters.

     The Candlelight Prayer,                                                                                                                                                                 We thank you guys for coming to support Heather family and the department, Heather is still in a coma but in stable condition but she still not out of the woods, the doctors say that she might not pull through this time, Charles and Heather have two children that are only a month old, they need all of the prayers that they can get, the high school principal have something to say to Charles. The school principal asked for a moment of silence of prayer for Heather, we all bow our heads, Charles we want you to know the whole school have Heather in their prayers and that we are raising money for Heather medical bills and any extra for your guys bills, the parents of the children that go to our school want to give Heather this picture for saving lives that might not be here if it wasn't for her quick action. I thank them and we all said another prayer, I was talking to Jim when my phone went off, and Zack was calling me to let me know that the doctors took Heather back into surgery because she had other issues that they didn't catch, and I told him I would be there as soon as I could. I told William what was going on and I took off. I stop at home and ask Laura if she could stay the night and I told her what was going on and she said that she could until 8:30 that she had plan and I told her that I would be back. I got to the hospital and Zack was in the waiting room and I ask if they took Heather in surgery and he said that they took her 5 minutes ago. We sat in silence for awhile, I look at the time and told Zack I would return as soon as I got the twins and he asked if he could stay at my house with Aiden and Addison and I said yes and he asked to keep him update and I told him that I would, Zack left, I texted Laura to let her know that Zack was going to be there so she could go home and she said ok and asked how Heather was doing and I text back and said that she was back in surgery and Laura text back said that she would say another prayer for her. I put my phone up and the doctor came over and sat next to me. " Charles we were able to fix the vein that were bleeding it was small, but we were able to get fix it," ok, how much damage did it cause," none we caught it in time, and I also have something else to you," ok," we will be waking Heather in two days if everything goes good and nothing else appear in her scans," that will be a relief, when will we able to tell if there any damage," we will know right away, but for now let stay hopeful that she will make a full recovery," agree," when can I see her," I'll have a nurse come and get you when we get her back in her room." I text Zack and let him know what was going on, and he said that he would be here in the morning when Laura got to the house.
