CHARLOTTE
•••
its the day after i have a pounding headache. its so bad. i don't want to get out of bed.

"sweetheart, you gotta get out of bed sometime." my mom quietly says as she walks into my room but to me, it was like she was yelling.

"i don't feel good." i simply say. seconds later, a familiar figure walks through the door. "Shawn." i state after recognizing the person. "hey sunshine. your brother, Sammy, texted me you weren't feeling so good. because of that, i brought soup." Shawn states holding up a bag with soup. i smile for the first time today, and its 2 in the afternoon.

i'm just wondering how Shawn had Sammy's number. after all, i've only known Shawn for a short amount of time. "thank you Shawn. i really appreciate it." i try to say with as much energy as i can muster. "i should go now." my mom smiles, "i have errands to run. oh and Shawn, Sammy wants you to meet someone later. he told me to tell you when you got here."

i look at Shawn with a confused face. he turns to me and shrugs. "okay. thanks Mrs. Wilkinson." Shawn pronounces. my mom leaves the room and Shawn and i are left with many questions.

"do you know who your brother wants me to meet?" he asks me taking out the soup. i shake my head but that seemed to make my head hurt more. should've known.

"here. let me feed you some soup." Shawn offers digging through the bag to find a spoon wrapped in plastic. he unwraps it and takes a spoonful of soup. "open." Shawn orders ready to feed me. i open my mouth slowly and he ever so gently feeds me the soup. man, it tasted really good.

"has Cameron ever come to see you today?" he asks acting casual but i can tell he's hoping for no. "no. he hasn't." i speak. he nods with a little grin. "oh, okay." he tries to say with a monotone voice but in the end, the tone was high pitched, like he is happy. my head, it doesn't hurt that much anymore. the soup really helped, surprisingly.

"want to get out of here?" i blurt out, asking Shawn. he seemed shocked, "no, no, no. you should rest. that head of yours needs a break."

"c'mon. lets get out of here. its getting stuffy. please?" i beg trying to convince him. "no. we can go skateboarding or something like that another time, but you need rest. i'm only doing this because i care about you." he coos feeling my forehead, "you feel hot. i will go get a ice pack." he gets up and kisses my hand before leaving the room. Shawn is a sweet guy. i'm lucky to have him in my life.

SHAWN
•••
i walk into her kitchen, a place so familiar to me. i dig through the refrigerator, trying to find the ice pack, until i hear footsteps come my way.

"well, well, well, look at who we have here. glad to see you buddy." a voice says happily but with some sarcasm. i turn to find Sammy. "what do you want, Wilkinson?" i ask rather annoyed. i need to get back to Charlotte.

"a little birdie whose last name is Dallas told me you were falling for Charlotte even though you guys just met recently so i called you here to see if it was true. looks like it is." he scoffs leaving me speechless so that he may continue, "we have a job to do Mendes. you, me, and love bird Dallas over yonder. it has to be done with by her 18th birthday, remember? i brought you here to help, not fall in love with her."

"well, i can't help how i feel, Wilkinson. i might just have to back out of this deal." i counter. "oh, poor Shawn, thinking he can just run away. we will all be greatly punished if this isn't done, so i suggest you get your act together." he spits trying not to speak so loudly. "after all, i have my ways of making you do it. i wasn't afraid to teach Cameron a lesson on how to stay in the game. don't you dare think i won't do the same to you." Sammy adds.

"what did you do to Cameron?" i grit my teeth. Cameron is actually an ok guy. he is kinda like my brother in a way. "he just took a little nap and once he wakes up, he will remember his objective and forget all feelings for Charlotte." Sammy grins widely, with a dangerous plan in his sleeve, like always.

"what are you trying to say Wilk?" i clench my hands into fists, trying o so very hard not to punch him in the face.

he laughs with an evil like tone, "i'm saying he might go a little... psycho."
