i take a chair and sit right by him placing his hand in mine. he's been in here for the past week with no sign of waking up from his coma.
"hey dad." i begin, "i hope you're doing okay. oh, i met a beautiful girl today. her name is Charlotte and you would love her. kind, sweet, cheerful. funny thing is we are supposedly dating. its a show for her ex. its complicated. the weird thing is though, i just met her today and i feel something. this kind of feeling is different. i can't explain it. maybe you will get to meet her. i want you to meet her. she's such a nice person. please wake up dad. i love you. so does mom and Aaliyah. why did you have to come and visit me? i know your worried but i'm fine living here with Nash. Nash always talks about some girl that starts with a M. i forgot. he's barely home anymore. school you know. when i first met him, i thought he was a bad guy but he's actually a really good student. straight A's. wait, M. the girl he was always talking about. Macy. her name was Macy. maybe Macy knows where he is. but who is she? maybe Charlotte knows. she knows everything."
i chuckle as i feel a squeeze.
i quickly turn to face my dad and he smiles, "maybe Charlotte's the one son."
"Dad! i'm going to get a doctor."
