Part twenty-four

- Jax's POV -
A spell? That's it?

"Yes. That's all." Maddie says. Diego looks at her confused and she slaps herself on the head.

"Okay, tell me what's going on. Now." I tell them. "What is up with you Maddie? You're totally different." Maddie and Diego look at each other and Maddie seems to have a fight with herself. She finally gives in and decides to tell me what's going on.

"Okay, I'm probably gonna die because of this, but I'll tell you." I look at her confused. Gonna die? "I'm a Toekomstige." I wanna laugh, but she tells me with her eyes that she's serious. I tell her to explain it and she says that she can read people's minds, bend all four elements -she's the only one who can do that- and that she knows when people lie and when to trust people or not. She also says she's the princess of the Toekomst-Kingdom, and that she changed because all Toekomstigen change when they start becoming one. She holds Diego tight, like it's her last day on this earth. I think of things to say, but I have none. I'm shocked, that there is more than just Witches, Kanays and Humans. What if there's more that we don't know? Maddie looks at me, with a look that says 'say something'. But I still have nothing to say.

"Wow." I say breaking the silence. Maddie laughs, and she shakes it off like it's nothing.

"But Toekomst told me that when I tell someone, I die then and there, so." She says. I remember her telling me about Toekomst. But if she would die 'then and there' if she told someone, why hasn't she died yet?

"I-I don't know." Maddie says confused. "Why haven't I died yet?" Suddenly there's a bright light, and a person comes out of it. Maddie recognizes her immidiately, so does Diego. I assume this is Toekomst.

"Maddie! Why did you tell these two people you are a Toekomstige?" Toekomst asks. She has a green gown, and a crown on her head. The same outfit as Maddie explained. Me and Maddie slap on our heads at the same time. I think we both totally forgot that Emma is here too.

"I had to tell Jax, he's my friend!" I'm her friend? I guess I am, as she looks serious. I smile at her. I can't believe how many friends I get the latest time.

"And Emma, she's just here." Maddie says mad. She hates Emma, I can see that. I hate Emma too. She's so annoying and stupid and cocky and...

"Well why haven't you died yet?" Toekomst says worried.

"I have no idea." Maddie puts her hands up. Toekomst notices Kir and she looks at Maddie once again. She doesn't even look worried.

"I thought I just told you how to save Kira. Why haven't you done it yet?" She then asks. So she's the one Maddie's been talking to when she faints!

"I told Jax what's going on." Maddie explains. "Should we do the spell now?"

"Yes! You don't have to wait too long or this will be permanent!" I widen my eyes and I think Emma notices because she scoffs. I tell Maddie that we have to do the spell now and Toekomst tells me that I have to lay Kir down and I do as she says. We stand in a circle and do the spell. Toekomst and Maddie walk away and tell me to do the same, but I can't move. Why isn't she waking up yet? Did something go wrong? Was too late? My questions are answered when I hear a loud gasp. I look at Kir, and she has tears in her eyes. I fall on my knees and hug her tight. She tightens the hug and I don't let go. I feel she doesn't want me to let go.

"Kir, what happened?" I ask her not letting go.

"T-the nightmares." She says sobbing. I don't know what nightmares she's talking about, but I'm not asking that now. Emma is laughing, and Kir turns around. I still hold her shoulders.

"What are you doing here?" Kir asks mean. "Why did you cast that spell on me?"

"I'm here because Maddie locked me up. I casted the spell because you irritated me last night." She says as it is the most normal thing in the world. Kir casts a spell on her, and she falls down in pain.
