I sat in the studio and I listened to the music intently. I danced a little bit to release my frustrations. I was starting to remember my life before this one and frankly I didn't want to. This was the only life I could stand to bare when I woke up in the morning. I got a call from a certain friend. I ran home as fast as I could and I opened the door.
"Guys!" I shouted and they all came down to find me in my dancing clothes soaking wet.
"Selene! Oh, my word, you can't be running around like that!" Renee argued. As far as she was concerned I was her daughter. Her second one at least.
"Mom, I'm okay. I got accepted to Forks high," I shouted excited but she wasn't very happy.
"What?" Bella asked and I nodded.
"Yeah. I sent an application form late last year and they just accepted me!" I screamed still jumping but I could see she wasn't happy.
"When were you going to tell us?!" Bella asked bewildered.
"Well- I don't know, but you should be happy for me! I get to be with dad, go to a new school, and meet new people!" I said but Renee was sceptical.
"Well if this is what you want then I guess it's okay," Phil said but Bella objected.
"Mom! If she goes you know that I have to go with her right? I don't want to go to Forks," she said and I rolled my eyes.
"You've been accepted too, I might have sent your application as well," I told her smiling sheepishly and removed my leg warmers which were now wet.
I smiled and she walked away. Later on that night, we packed and I honestly was excited. I was excited to get out of here because something from my past had found me here and I needed to leave. URGENTLY.

Our plane had finally landed and when I stepped out I could already feel the cold air on my face. I saw a piece of cardboard with our names written on it and already I knew that it was Charlie because his boards always looked atrocious. I gave him a warm hug immediately. Bella didn't even try to be modest and give the guy a hug. I glared at her and she ended up giving him an awkward pat on the back. He took us for something to eat so we could regain our strength.
"What would you like to eat?" the waitress asked. My sister and father ordered the same thing; fries and a belly burger.
"I'll have a lime water with a veggie burger," I said. The waitress nodded and walked away. "Thank you."
"It's great to see you, girls, again. I see you haven't changed a bit. Especially you," my dad said pointing at me.
"Well, I do have outstanding genes," I replied smiling. I nudged my older sister and she tried smiling but it didn't really seem like a genuine one, then again one of the reasons I didn't like her. She was stubborn and difficult. It was more of a grin of despair. Once we were done eating we drove to the white, double story house. There I saw Jake and Billy waiting patiently. I got out of the car awkwardly and gave the guy a hug and then Billy. Last time I left Jake told me he had feelings for me and I didn't reply so this wasn't a very nice moment for me.
"I figured you'd want your own ride to school," Charlie said pointing at the truck.
"Thanks, Charlie," Bella said doing that annoying dead girl thing.
"I refurbished it so the engine is as good as new." He said. "I uh, I'm almost done working on your gift, it'll be done soon," He told me.
"It's okay, no need to rush" I smiled. "I should come by and cut your hair sometime," I said pushing it behind Jake's ear
"But I like it."
"I'll let you keep it for now." I agreed and we said our goodbyes.
The day passed and the sun set. I unpacked my bags and finally for the first time I didn't have to share a room with Bella. She made it hard for me to live my life because she was always breathing down my neck. I was about to sleep when my phone rang. There was no caller ID so curiosity got the better of me and I answered it.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Hello who is this?" they asked and I cut the call as soon as I knew who the voice belonged to. I broke my phone and shoved it into my bin and sat back on my bed.
"Do you want your meds?" Bella asked and I shook my head.
"You're lying, I can see you shaking, you may think you're invincible but to me you're my younger sister and you need to be taken care of," she said and she sat at my feet and handed me the pills. What she didn't know was that I was invincible.
"I am not leaving until you swallow those capsules," she said and I pretended to swallow them. "Night Selene." She said and she closed the door behind me. I stood by my pedestal. I got another call from another phone and I smiled.
"Nice of you to check up on me," I smiled.
"Well you know I can't your humour," the voice said and I felt a hand wrap around my shoulders. I turned around smiling.
"Nice to see you too Rebekah," I smiled and so did she.
"Nice to see you too 'Swan'." she said. The time flew by and we did nothing but talk and stare at my ceiling.
"How's everyone?" I asked her.
"I'm not in New Orleans anymore, well for the time being"
"I'm happy for you, you need a break from a place like that every once in a while don't you?" I asked.
"You seem down. What is it?" she asked me.
"Nothing. I'm fine. I'm just tired. I haven't had any proper sleep in almost a week," I told her and stood up. I looked at myself in the mirror. I removed the earrings I had on and then started removing my hair from the knot it was in.
"No something else is bothering you. I can feel it," she said.
"Bekah. I'm fine. You worry too much about me. Don't you have to go back to draining blood now? Pretty sure the humans miss their favourite vampire. You should leave now." I told her.
"Hey, I'm not leaving until you tell me what's wrong," she stood behind me and we looked at each other through the mirror.
"I don't want to talk about it. I put it behind me for a reason." I told her and I brushed my hair.
"What do you mean?"
"Rebekah, I don't want to talk about it," I told her smiling and she ran her fingers through her blonde hair.
"Hey, listen. I'm here for you. You need to talk about what's been happening with you lately. The house, the family, this lie?" she confronted me.
"It's him. He knows about me. After all this time I was praying that he would have forgotten about me. He's still looking for me and I've been running. This is the one stable thing I have in my life and I want to hold onto it for as long as possible. He's not going to stop anytime soon. He'll keep digging-" she cut me off, giving me a hug.
I pulled away from her and walked to my bathroom where I changed into a pair of pyjamas. "The thing is I just wanted to escape that life, I just wanted to live a normal life," I told her rolling up my sleeves.
I stared at the ceiling and I listened to my shallow breath. It was light but troubled. My heart beat was faster than usual and so were the people in the house. I turned to my side with my eyes closed and when I opened I saw the male figure and I fell off of my bed. I waited a few seconds to see if Bella or my dad would come in. When I looked to my side I saw that there was no one there. I had just been hallucinating.
I walked out of the house silently and went for a walk just so I could clear my thoughts. Deep into the woods I went. I carried on walking not looking back once to see how far I'd walked. When I heard a branch crack in the distance I flinched. It didn't take me long to realize it was just me and I carried on walking. I felt someone close. Someone was watching me. I grabbed their throats and slammed them into the tree. It was my friend. Why was she here? Why had she followed me? How had she gotten out?
The ever rising sun illuminated her face and I took a step back. "What are you doing here?" I asked her.
