"I have to ask you for a favour," I said.

"Yes?" I looked at Damon and stood up.

"You need to forget about Katherine and everything she did," I said.

"No!" he said.

"Why not?" I asked.

"She ruined my life," he said.

"You're being selfish. You don't want to end up like me. Living more than one lie at a time. Let me tell you something; it honestly gets tiring. Do you want to live a life where you can't honestly be happy because of one person?" I asked him.

I walked home and I sat in my room packing my stuff into a bag before I looked around for the last time. I eventually met up with Damon at the cliff, where he was waiting with his mustang to get out of this town and we drove out of the town.

"You ready for this?" he asked.

"Definitely," I replied.

We reached New Orleans and Niklaus offered that I stay with him and his family but of course Rebekah would not be pleased considering I ran away without her after I promised her a new life. I walked into the house again and I reminisced.

"Aria!!" a woman asked me and she ran to me giving me a hug.

"Rebekah!!" I shouted.

"What are you doing here?" she asked and I explained everything.

"I've come here to sort out some personal stuff," I said.

That night Elijah stayed out late. He was either avoiding me or trying to look for Katherine with the help of Niklaus' witches. I sat throughout the night in my room and I looked around. I wish I could've been able to tell him everything but I couldn't do that until the reckoning had taken place. The following morning after running a few errands and visiting Davina I sat outside under a tree carving into some bark. New Orleans had always been my second home but I couldn't have been at home when Elijah wanted me gone. Haley came to visit me and I smiled. She gave me a hug and I continued to carve into the wood. "How's Hope?" I asked her.

"She's great, how are you?" she asked and I smiled.

"Niklaus told you didn't he?" I smiled and I stood up.

"Niklaus tells me Elijah is losing his mind over you," she said.

"He's Elijah. He doesn't care about me," I told her scoffing.

"Why are you like this?" she asked me.

"Because he and I just don't work," I told her and I closed my eyes.

"You and Elijah are more alike than you care to admit. You're both so blinded by your need to protect other people that you don't see that you yourselves need to be protected. Don't you love him?" she asked me.

"Of course I love him! But I left him remember? I left him for a reason!" I reminded her.

"That's complete rubbish and you know it," she said and I took a deep breath.

"Moving on, you should know that I asked a friend of mine to compel Enzo to forget about everything," I told her.

"Why," she asked now standing.

"I don't want to lose him to the wrong people,"

"What about Elijah?" she continued.

"He's loves you. He's in love with you. I know about you and Elijah, Haley, and I can see that he's finally found someone that he cares about. You care for him and I can't take that away from either of you.  I'm pretty sure I'm the last person he'd want to talk to after a thousand years of avoiding him anyway," I told her, standing up.
