While the sky showered down on its counterparts, I took it upon myself to sit and enjoy the cold, for the first time in twenty years I had finally felt rain drops fall upon my face. "Do you always sit in the rain hoping to be killed?" a voice asked.

"No. You and I both know that, my immortality does not allow for such to happen," I informed them and they scoffed.

"Are you sure?"

"Unless you attempt to take my life, I'm sure I'm  safe,"

"Do entreat me with the answer to a single question, what are you doing here all alone?" he asked me.

"I tend to do a lot of activities alone. Time seems to work slower, in a sense, if you understand what I'm trying to point at. Do not be fooled Kai, I can fend for myself, let us think back forty years. I have proved myself time and time again," I smirked before he helped me up in addition to gripping my waist tightly, his eyes were still that dangerous hazel colour I couldn't resist.

"We could move away and you could help me be civil, come back with me, " he expressed.

"I can't," I told him and stood motionless. "There's a lot wrong with my life and I'm not ready to involve someone just yet, my father murdered vampires even though he himself was a vampire," quickening my pace, I carried on walking away.

"This all traces back to primal instinct, it wasn't your fault," he assured me.

"Your patronising tone makes me uneasy, could you perhaps continue being that sadistic man you were before?"

"Sure but that would mean trying to drain you of your energy and my ending up with a corpse that doesn't have a head,"

"True. I must leave you now, I have a life to get back to and so do you,"

I couldn't help but reflect on my existence as I proceeded to hop into bed where I stared at the ceiling above me. Unexpectedly a smile was painted across my face at that moment. While the rain poured I saw a figure in my room, startled, I closed my eyes to reset my eyesight but it was still there. It reached for me and I tried to grab its neck, but it was gone.

The following morning èI went to the lunch ladies at recess and I grabbed an apple. I carved the initial E in very fine detail to remind myself no matter how hard I tried to stay with him and no matter how hard I tried my best for him to live a normal life it would never happen. The music played loudly and the headphones blocked the world out which was just what i needed. When Bella sat beside me once again she was staring at the painfully gorgeous man across the cafeteria. No doubt about it, she was madly in love with him. He was smart, tall, had beautiful everything and he was a vampire.

My mind traced back to the activities of my 2000 year existence. That was how it always started with me. With a vampire or with a human that turned into a vampire. In the end it was always the same. My heart would end up broken and I would end up on the run. I know it wasn't a good idea that I'd compelled him, but he told me that Bella was like his own branded heroin. Who could beat heroin?

Throughout the years I had avoided love. It was like a disease that I got every time. A disease that broke down my heart like an erosive acid broke down metal. It was as if I were an immortal destined to be alone... forever. I was turning into my mother!!

Bella wouldn't stop staring at him and I kicked her under the table. "Ow, what was that for?" she asked.

"Stop staring at him he's probably feeling really unnerved. If you want to tell him you like him do it and stop wasting time," I told her.

"What? I don't like him," she said, shifting in her chair.

"Yeah, right. Whatever you say," I told her and I stood up and walked away.

"Today we're doing blood," the teacher said and I felt sick to my stomach, I knew my fangs would find a way to manipulate me and gnaw into someone's skin. "Selene you may be excused. I'll see you tomorrow," he smiled and I walked out. I sat in the music room and sat with a guitar. I hadn't played in almost a century. I doubt I still knew how to play the damn instrument, let alone read the notes. I pulled out a page with bars and a pen, as I found myself a tune I wrote it down until I heard footsteps and I stopped playing.

"You play extremely well." I heard him say.

"Thank you. Is the school day over?" I asked him.

"Yes," he simply whispered and he purposely deepened his voice. I stood up still not looking at him and looked down as I walked into his arm, he smelt like blood.

"Have you recently gone hunting?" I asked him.

"Well, not recently," he said.

"I give you my thumbs up, I tried the animal diet and I started losing my strength so once in a while I have a blood bag," I smiled.

"You've got to be one of the most interesting girls I know," he said and I smiled.

"Good. I'd love to stay here and stare at your arm as it blocks my path, but I've got to get home," I said and he moved it laughing.

"Sorry, how about I take you to dinner tonight," he said and my boots sort of squeaked like a brand new pair of trainers on a wooden floor as I halted.

"Sorry but I have plans," I said. In the parking lot I stood beside Bella and we saw a car heading towards us. Before I could take any heroic actions I looked to my side and Cullen was next to me, he'd tried to stop it as much as possible, but it had hit me quite a bit. I barely stood up and I clutched my fractured shoulder that was now throbbing beyond belief and I requested space before I threw up my breakfast, I stood up straight and looked at the two across from me.

"How did you?" she asked and I looked at her.

"I was standing next to you the whole time," he told her.

"He was, you just weren't concentrating," I told her and the pain in my shoulder ceased to stop, instead it persisted. What was going on with me? Why hadn't it healed?

"Are you alright?" Edward asked and then eyed my shoulder,

"Selene, your shoulder," Bella said and I looked in the wing mirror of a car and there was a massive piece of metal lodged in me.

"That explains the pain," I laughed before I tried to pull it out but she smacked my hand away. I went to the hospital with her and I listened to music while I waited to be treated.

"I'm so sorry girls," the guy that lost control of the car said and I smiled at him telling him we'd eventually be back on our feet. I stood beside her bed with the piece of metal impaled in my bone like a wing.

"Let's take a look at that, shall we?" Dr. Cullen inquired. I rubbed her hand before walking with him to a separate room, Edward closed the curtain and took his my hand into his so that I could stay calm.

"I just need you to pull it out," I told him.

"You'll need surgical removal so we don't damage anything." He said.

"I'm a tribrid remember? Increased healing," I told him and he pulled it out. I yelped a little and then I stood by the mirror and watched it as the wound healed, I rotated my shoulder and something clicked before I felt my arm returned to normalcy.

"Well I have to act human right?"

A normal person shouldn't have been out, therefore Carlisle insisted that I go through standard procedure to 'remove' the metal from my body. I'd stayed in the hospital for 2 days straight 'recovering' from an accident I'd already healed from, as well as beginning to feel extremely bored in a hospital that smelt like dying people.
