The morning was as always calm, gentle and every bit of that a person's heart desires. Amidst all was Taehyung, draped in a simple yet elegant emerald coloured saree, the intricate golden thread work shimmered beautifully under the light. The day was tranquil but within her lay a hurricane.

It's the 8th day of Durga Puja, tomorrow there will be puja and she was immersed in doing the preparations. Her eyes were filled with fatigue and yet she kept on restraining herself. Every time she would shift her weight from one foot to the other, her body ached with pain, screaming to get noticed.

As if these weren't enough, her work had been going messily, clumsily and every bit that makes someone annoyed. She would hear taunting each passing second from the relatives. Her own in-laws, friends, cousins, Sister-in-law, they would interrupt in between, pointing out her mistakes, their words weren't rude, not taunting, not cruel but full of care and understanding.

Despite understanding the concern, the care, she couldn't remove the ugly, dull ache forming in her heart. The irritation of being interrupted in everything made her annoyed. This was not the actual reason but maybe, somewhere deep down, the wounded of the past are peaking out, perking the delicate organ—heart of her to that quiet existence that brought tears in her eyes.

“Bahu what are you doing? That's not the right way.” Another voice reached her ears, her eyes shut closed at the remark. She slowly opened them, a flicker of irritation in them, her lips curled into a small polite smile, she muttered a soft, almost inaudible “sorry”, before turning away.

Taehyung had always been the clumsy, shy and introverted child of her family, earning taunts, being a topic of fun and being silent.

But today, her heart thumped against her chest with fear. The fear of a flicker of her young self in her new life.

It was a labyrinth for her.

Jungkook was in the room, working over a patient's case when he got a call. He had to leave urgently in the nearby hospital, the hospital was the branch of that hospital where he worked. The case has been critical, he was still learning, still under training, and yet he was appointed there as the assistant doctor for the senior one who would perform the operation.

The other doctors would help but the majority of them had taken leave, and one was away and the traffic didn't see the time, the way we humans do. He had to leave urgently, he couldn't deny, for it was urgent.

Tae was moving with a bowl of sawai, unaware to her, a child had stumbled and the glass of water from his hand had slipped. The water lay spread on the ground, Tae walked over it, her feet slipped and a gasp left her lips. A thund sound was heard, the plate spun on the floor, slowly freezing on the ground. The sawai lied on the ground, the bowls fallen.

Her breath caught in her throat, her body froze, her lips parted in shock. The air stilled, the atmosphere hung heavy with tension, a sudden ache hit her sprained ankles, tears shimmered at the corner of her eyes in pain. No-one came, her ear buds collided with the sound of muffled laughter, eyes caught the judging stares, and heart ached with that ugly feeling.

Yuna and Eunyoo rushed towards her, Yuna gently held her and made her stand, Sohee held her from the other side. Hyunjin and Taehyun helped Eunyoo in taking the plate and bowl, Eunyoo gently asked Tae, “Beta, are you ok?”

“J-ji” She uttered, her gaze lowered, eyes shimmering with unshed tears, her grip tightened on yuna in an urgent manner, her cheeks flushed in embarrassment. Eunyoo said, “Rest in the room, we will do the rest of the work.”

“Maa, I can do—” Tae was about to speak when a voice, shrill and taunting said from behind, “No Bahu, Tomorrow is puja. We can't take risks of things to be bad, you take rest, hmm? It must be hurting na.”
