"Hey, hun. I'm going to be heading to Neveda. My doctor said there's a treatment there that he thinks will help me. It's one of my only chances so I'm going to take it. Will you be okay by yourself for a few days?" My dad asked, one Thursday night.

"Yeah, definitely," I said.

"Alright. I'm leaving on Sunday and I'll be back Wednesday night."

"Okay." He kissed my forehead and gently closed my bedroom door on his way out.

M: let's hangout on Sunday

D: ok

M: my house

D: k

Sunday could not come soon enough. However, it finally made its way to me.

"Bye, Mar Mar," my dad said, hugging me tight.

"Bye, Dad," I said. He walked out the door. Within 45 minutes Daniel was at my door.

"Hey," he said.

"Hey," I responded.

"Let's go downstairs." We walked down the stairs and sat at the big table in the middle of the room. He sat across from me. He wore a Monster energy drink sweatshirt with dark jeans. He wore his Green Bay Packers hat and his black converse. At first, we just sat there. I leaned back in my chair and held the table to keep from falling.

"So, what's up?"

"Nothing much, how 'bout you?" He asked.

"Nothing much. Dude, Jennette talks about you a lot. Haha it's freaking hilarious," I said. I could not tell you why I brought her up. I did not remember processing those words before they came out of my mouth.

"Yeah, she's awesome." I turned away and grabbed the remote. I turned on the TV.

"Leave this on!" He yelped. I hated this show but I left it on for him. I walked over to my couch and sat down. He jumped next to me. We sat there, me on my phone and him watching his show.

"Let me see your phone," I said.

"Why?" He asked.

"I wanna play a game haha. I got nothing on my phone." He rolled his eyes and pulled his phone from his front pocket. He unlocked his phone and handed it to me. A picture of Jennette was his profile picture. She wore a gray tank top with a push up bra. Smoke filled most of her face as she blew out. Typical. I tried to ignore the picture and clicked on the first game I saw. I attempted to play.

"Marie, you suck," he chuckled. He grabbed the phone and showed me how to play.

"Shut up," I said. I reached over and grabbed the phone back. My stomach was now rested on his lap. He slowly put his hand on my back. I sat up slightly, resting my head on his chest. I curled up in a bawl, facing the TV. My head was the only thing on him. He rubbed my back. I set the phone down. I felt his heart beat and his steady breaths. Everything faded. Ten minutes went by and I woke up.

"I fell asleep," I mumbled.

"I know," He said softly. He moved to the other side of me on the opposite end of the sectional. I sat up and leaned into him. He continued watching TV. I watched him. I took his hat off and stroked my fingers through his hair. I looked at his thick, brown hair. I stared at the side of his dark blue eyes. I counted each and every beauty mark on his face. I was getting warm.
