From then on I grew hatred towards Sam. He was an awful person and he did awful things. Not only that, but he got other people to do awful things as well.

"Ha, watch this," a girl with the name of Melanie said. I was at my friend Jennette's locker and Melanie was her locker neighbor. Sam's locker was in between Melanie's and Jennette's. Melanie looked around and began doing Sam's locker combination. It opened with ease.

"How'd you figure that out?" I said half laughing and half shocked.

"I see him do it everyday!" Sam came walking through the hallway with a group of guys around him.

"Hi, Marie," Sam said in a mocking tone. He knew I hated him and he loved getting on my nerves. I gave him a dirty look as Jennette closed her locker. We both walked away.

It was finally Friday. Daniel and I had not talked since the fight. It was after fifth hour so I went to Jennette's locker to walk with her to sixth hour. Neither Melanie nor Sam were there. I looked around, sneakily walking to Sam's locker. I opened it. Jennette was not paying any attention. I was so furious. I had so much anger built inside. I was so sick of Sam and him always mocking me and I was so tired of the things he did and who he got to do all his illegal drugs with. Exasperation filled my veins rather than blood. Anger filled my head rather than thoughts. I began to experience what most people consider "ten seconds of courage". I looked on the top shelf of Sam's locker. Three water bottles stood there. I grabbed the water bottle with the most water and opened the cap, pouring the water into his backpack.

"No!" Jennette yelled, realizing what was happening. She stuck her arm in his locker to grab the water bottle. We fought for the water like two dehydrated people stuck in the middle of the Dead Sea. The water bottle flew back, liquid drenching the right side of Melanie's shirt. The water bottle hit the ground and burst. A pinch of guilt made me tense but I relaxed when I realized what had just happened. I started laughing and apologizing to Jennette. Sam came to his locker.

"The hell happened over here?" He asked, looking back at the ground. He did not even stop to acknowledge the fact that his locker was already open, he just started grabbing the appropriate books for his next class. Sam looked at Jennette's shirt and chuckled.

"That's funny, aye? Well I just saved your ass! Marie just poured that water into your bag!" Sam raised an eyebrow, looking to me, and stuck his arm in his bag. I turned and jogged away, smiling. I stopped at Cam and told him what I did. He laughed. Of course, it was not the right thing to do, but I was so proud of myself for having the guts to take even that small risk.
