"You going to Sam's party?" Cam asked me at my locker the next day. Sam was a boy in my grade. He did not talk to me much nor did he speak with many of my friends. Sam had short, layered hair. It was golden brown. He had pale green eyes and a very definite jaw line. His eye lashes were exceptionally long and his eyebrows were full. He had a piercing on his right ear. He seemed cool, but I did not know him well. At all.
"Wasn't invited," I said. It did not bother me too much.
"Why? You going?" I asked.
"Only cus' Danny's going. Wha's up with you two anyway?"
"Ugh. We're just arguing again," I said, rolling my eyes.
"What's new," he said. Cam was right. We were fighting too much. We got into first hour and Daniel was not there. About fifteen minutes past and he walked into the room, his head down. He was quiet but not ominously quiet. Just quiet. The day went on. When sixth hour came he was his usual self. I looked to him. He sat across the room. He did not look at me once. The day ended and the night went on. He did not text me. However, he was at Sam's so I understood. I did not care. I was an independant girl that did not need anyone. So I spent my friday night under a blanket with Alex. I had more fun with Alex then I did with anyone else. We watched a movie and cuddled into each other due to the suspense of the film. In between us was cheeze its and pop. I liked those nights. When I could just be my laid back self and have fun in a relaxed way.
The next day came too soon.
D: Hey babe
M: hey
D: Hey do you know this girl?
He sent me a picture of a girl with the name of Shaley. She was on my volleyball team freshman year. I did not like her very much, but I acted as though we were friends.
M: yeah, we used to play volleyball together
D: Do u like her?
M: yeah, I guess
I was curious about this situation but I did not want to ask any questions. I trusted Daniel.

"Hey, Marie."
"What?" I asked the next day in Spanish. I turned to face the person that called me. It was a boy named Nick. Nick bothered me. He felt as though he was the coolest person to walk the Earth. That was not the thing that bothered me. What bothered me was the fact that he wasn't. Not many people liked Nick. He was not nice. He was not sweet nor was he sympathetic. He was not smart. He was not loyal or trustworthy in any way. Not only that, but he was not easy on the eye. He had an oval shaped head and too much hair that stuck up in the wrong places. He had black eyes with small bags beneath them. His lips were always chapped and his nose was too tiny.
"Did you hear what happened?" Last Friday at Sam's party, I heard that a boy with the name of Jake puked everywhere. It was so gross.
"Oh my gosh. You mean at Sam's party?" I said in an agitated tone. Too many people were talking about such a disgusting topic.
"Yeah. Are you mad?" Nick asked.
"I'm just frustrated, people won't shut up about it! People were saying it happened more than once, too," I said.
"No it only happened once," he said. The bell rang. I started packing up.
"So did you break up with him?"
"Daniel?" I asked.
"Yeah, because of what happened," Nick said.
"Wait what?" We both walked into the hall. Nick's locker was in the opposite direction of mine. He walked away. I was so confused. I walked to my locker. What happened? I asked myself. A good friend of mine, Kaitlyn, was walking past me. She was at Sam's party.
