Chapter 22

Discovery

The room fell silent as the figure stepped out from the shadow. He was human or at least looked human apart from his white feathery wings which were outstretched. Lily gazed at the man in wonder, his bright green glowing eyes stared back at her. The man had long grey hair that reached down his back and a few wrinkles around the rim of his eye but even that didn’t give Lily enough information to guess his age. He wore a similar blank expression that Abaddon did but with a slight smirk on the edge of his lips.

Lily wondered if he was a demon like Abaddon due to his unnatural bright eyes and appearance. He looked so young yet old at the same time. Lily turned to look at Abaddon who was staring at the man with utter disbelief.

“Do you know him?” Lily quietly whispered over to Abaddon.

Abaddon broke his gaze which was transfixed upon the man.  “I do, this…this is one of the gods.”  Abaddon stuttered.

Lily’s blood began to boil. This was one of the men that had ordered the death of her race. She didn’t care if he had given her the body she had now, it wouldn’t make up for what he had done. She clenched her fists tightly trying to control her temper.

“Abaddon, Lily” he said addressing the pair. “I believe we have a lot to discuss.”

The anger only rose more inside of Lily. “Ha! You’ve got nerve if you think I’m going to speak to you.” Lily said before laughing sarcastically.

Abaddon snapped his head back to Lily with a panic expression. “Lily shut up!” he growled before grabbing her arm tightly.

“Ow! Let me go!” She whimpered.

The god watched in amusement at the pair before speaking. “As I was saying there are a numerous things I feel we must speak about. If you would all care to follow me we can do this in a calm fashion.”

Abaddon released his grip over Lily’s arm and followed the god through the doorway. As the god entered the doorway his wings instantly disappeared allowing him room to get through. Lily trailed on behind Abaddon as they walked down countless numbers of hallways that all looked the same. They all had flame torches hanging on the halls and the same red doors, it almost seemed like maze of doorways, she wondered how Abaddon found his way around here, but then again if you was forced to spend eternity down here you would probably find your way around after a couple of centuries.

It felt like they were walking for at least five minutes but Lily no longer had a perception of time anymore as in hell days never ended instead there was just an eternal night. Finally they reached a doorway that didn’t look similar like all the others had, this one was different due to the black columns that stood either side of the doorway.  The door instantly swung open the moment the god approached it.

Lily had to wait till Abaddon had moved out of the doorway to get a decent look inside. The room was decorated with stone statues. It took Lily a few minutes to realise what the statues represented. At closer look she saw the statues were of the hell hounds. It sent shivers down her spine just looking at them.

In the centre of the room was a large oak table with several throne like seats surrounding it, Somehow it almost reminded Lily of the round table if it wasn’t for the fact the table was oval and not circular.

“Please take a seat.” The god said while he made his way to the chair nearest to him.

Lily didn’t argue as she walked over to one of the seats and sat down, Abaddon was quick to sit next to her in an almost protective fashion. He tried to smile reassuringly to her but it faltered and quickly went back to his worried look.
