This chapter will wrap up the Green Lantern arc I started prior to the wedding story and then we're returning to National City for a while. But I promise this chapter will be interesting.

Victoria Kord was currently working in her lab, once again working on refining the latest version of her OMAC suit, once again furious that she'd been reduced to being a low level flunky to Lex Luthor.

She used to be someone respected and now she'd been reduced to this. Lex Luthor's low level lackey, since she wasn't an idiot. She knew that Lex would dispose of her as soon as she accomplished what she promised and she was getting close and she knew that he'd know if she sabotaged her work to try and extend her usage.

There was literally no way out of the hell she found herself in. All because her brother had to go soft and cost her everything she'd worked towards. And just thinking about that made her see red with rage.

Which was ironic, considering a literal red portal violently tore itself open right in front of her and a huge, molten, behemoth monster of a man, obviously an alien judging by his dark red skin and he was wearing a uniform similar to Green Lantern's, except his was red and she could feel the rage coming off him and the lantern symbol was slightly different.

"Who the hell are you?" Victoria asked, only for the figure to smirk.

"One who can give you everything you desire." the creature said.

"That's not a name." Victoria said and the creature chuckled.

"I am Atrocitus. Founder and leader of the Red Lantern Corps." Atrocitus said.

"Any connection to the Green Lantern Corps?" Victoria asked.

"Only my hatred of them. Their precious Guardians destroyed my home and so many others in my sector and tried to forget we ever existed. They even attempted to bar off my sector from the rest of the universe and hide behind their army of Lanterns that they built to protect themselves from my wrath. But I have spent years building my own army of Red Lanterns." Atrocitus said.

"So you have rings too?" Victoria asked as Atrocitus showed her his red lantern ring.

"But these aren't puny green rings that are powered by will. No, my corp uses the superior power of rage to charge our rings." Atrocitus said.

"Rage is more powerful." Victoria agreed.

"And I can sense it burning inside you. You have the same rage burning inside you that every Red Lantern needs." Atrocitus said as he presented her with another red power ring.

"My own ring?" Victoria asked, since this was her dream come true. To finally have real power and not have to slave away under others anymore.

"Yes, but I admit, there is a caveat. While your rage can power the ring, I could've given any angry earthling it, since the one good thing about your species is the fact that you're always angry about everything." Atrocitus said.

"True. So why did you pick me?" Victoria asked, wondering where this was going.

"Because you alone not only possess the rage needed to power this ring, but also the genius needed to build what I need built on this planet." Atrocitus said.

"And what exactly is it that you need built?" Victoria asked.

"This." Atrocitus said as he used his ring to create a projection of what looked like some kind of gate.

"What is that?" Victoria asked.

"This is a transmat portal. My men are working on building one back in our headquarters, but we need another gateway to transmat from one planet to another. You will build the portal here on Earth." Atrocitus said.

"Why do you need this if you can just pop in as easily as you did?" Victoria asked.

"Because it takes an incredible amount of rage to power my ring enough to be able to penetrate the barriers the Guardians set up to keep my forces in our sector without them knowing. I only have enough power left for a jump home. Creating the transmat portal will allow my forces to bypass those defenses and enter the heart of Guardian territory undetected and attack them when they're not expecting it." Atrocitus said.

"I agree. But you can't expect me to sit idly by and wait for you to arrive." Victoria said.

"And I don't. I wouldn't be offering the ring to you now if I didn't want you to use it. Give the Green Lanterns of this planet some trouble, give them a taste of the power that's coming their way. But now, you accept this ring?" Atrocitus asked as he held the ring out to Victoria, who took it and slid it on her finger.

"What do I do now?" Victoria asked.

"Speak our oath. With blood and rage of crimson red, ripped from a corpse so freshly dead, together with our hellish hate, we'll burn you all, that is your Fate!" Atrocitus said and Victoria nodded, just hearing those words seemed to fuel the hatred inside her as she repeated the oath.

"With blood and rage of crimson red, ripped from a corpse so freshly dead, together with our hellish hate, we'll burn you all, that is your Fate!" Victoria snarled as she felt like acid was being injected into her blood before she screamed in pain as the power of rage completely overtook her and Atrocitus grinned as a new Red Lantern was born.

"Go on, Red Lantern. Unleash your fury on this world and prepare the way for the arrival of my armies." Atrocitus said, since it was clear he'd made a correct choice in his latest appointment as a Red Lantern.

"Yes Atrocitus, I will." Red Lantern said, her voice distorted by her ring.

"And get work building the portal big for my army to enter through. I'll see you soon." Atrocitus said as he vanished, leaving Red Lantern to marvel at the power she now possessed.
