Chapter 127

Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight.

Thanks to the information M'yrnn provided, the White Martian Resistance, along with the Justice League, were able to launch a surprise attack on the facility, taking the evil white martians by surprise, especially their commander, General Armek, who J'inn seemed to take a personal pleasure in fighting while the others seemed to disperse into groups.

Martian Manhunter helped Sentinel take down Armek while Supergirl and Green Lantern fought their way through the white martians, since order to help the non martians tell the difference between the resistance and the enemies, all members of the resistance had temporarily taken green forms, since while they wanted to show that not all white martians were evil, in this case, being green would be more beneficial. Not to mention it would really piss off the other whites.

At the same time this was happening, Miss Martian and Superboy were tagteaming some of the other white martians, trying to distract their enemies to give them a shot to retrieve the staff.

However, J'inn was distracted from fighting Armek when another female white Martian attacked her.

"Traitor." the martian hissed telepathically and J'inn immediately recognized them.

"Sister. It's been awhile." J'inn said to her younger sister, H'anna H'rac, the new crown princess of the White Martians after J'inn had been disowned.

"You're no sister of mine. Especially since you insist on wearing that hideous green skin. You look like a monster." H'anna said.

"You're the monster H'anna. This skin is beautiful. Hopefully one day you'll see that. But now, why don't I remind you that you could never beat me in a fight." J'inn said as she lunged at her sister and the two engaged in battle on the physical and psychic planes.

It was a hard fought battle, but eventually the Resistance triumphed thanks to Green Lantern using her ring to seize the staff and using it to cover the Resistance's retreat, since they got what they came for, no reason to continue the fight when there was a good chance that reinforcements would arrive any minute.

"You found it." M'yrnn said happily when his son and the others returned to the cave, with J'onn holding the staff of Kolar.

"Yep and we dealt a serious blow to my family, which was very fun." J'inn said as J'onn handed the staff to his father.

"It's one thing to have faith in God. It's another to see his grace before you. Not just the staff, but having my family restored to me." M'yrnn said happily.

"The staff belong to the Resistance now." Kara said.

"No. It's too powerful a weapon for either side to have. If we're going to win this war, we need to do it by being better than our enemies. Attempting to use the staff as a weapon makes us no better than Phobos himself or those we're fighting." M'att said and the resistance nodded, even T'ill'all.

"We'll make sure it stays safe, but now I think we need to head home, especially since Christmas is quickly approaching." Kara said.

"Yeah, it's honestly the perfect time of year for this reunion, since Christmas is a time for family and now J'onn's got more family." Alex agreed.

"And we need to get going, since my family is visiting from Argo, so I need to be there when they arrive." Kara said.

"Do you want to come with us too, dad?" M'gann asked her father hopefully.

"I wish I could M'gann, but I can't abandon this fight. Not when we're getting closer to victory." M'att said, gesturing for his daughter to walk with him.

"You sure you can't come to Earth just for a visit?" M'gann asked her father.

"Except it won't be for just a visit. I might intend for it to be, but I won't be able to leave you. But I can't abandon my fellow martians and I don't want you to stay here. I want you to return to Earth with your uncle and live your life. And be with Superboy." M'att said with a smile at the look on his daughter's face.

"I don't know what you're talking about?" M'gann asked.

"M'gann, I don't need to be psychic to know how you feel about him. You love him, just like how I loved your mother. I don't know what you're waiting for, but please, promise me that when you return to Earth, you'll tell him how you feel." M'att said and M'gann nodded.

"I will. And I'm just glad I got to see you again, even if it wasn't for long. Best Christmas gift ever." M'gann said as she hugged her father goodbye before going to meet up with the others to board the Javelin to head home.

Meanwhile, at the same time this was happening on Mars, back on Earth, Lex Luthor was standing in Boravia, since it's President, Vasil Ghurkos, was his ally who'd agreed to allow Lex and his Legion, which was currently made up of himself, Cheetah, Bane, Ocean Master, Black Manta, Captain Cold, Heat wave, Toyman, Metallo, Sinestro, Silver Banshee, Red Lantern, the Riddler, Icicle, Master Jailer, Giganta, Scarecrow, Parasite and Felix Faust to hideout in his country.

"Time to summon my latest recruit." Lex said as he looked down at the Phantom Zone Projector he, Master Jailer and Toyman had built and he'd locked onto a very interesting energy signature in the zone. Another martian. A martian who'd be very helpful in his fight against the Justice League.

After the projector opened the portal and retrieved its target, the individual lowered his hood to reveal the face of another Green Martina.

"What do you want?" the martian asked.

"To offer you the one thing you want most. Vengeance on the one who wronged you. Join my Legion and I'll give you the opportunity to eliminate J'onn J'onzz once and for all. Or I can send you back into the Phantom Zone and before you get any ideas, remember that this isn't the only projector I have and the other one is out of range." Lex said.

"I accept. My brother will pay for banishing me to the hell of the Phantom Zone. But I'll need your help to fully accomplish my goal." Malefic J'onzz said with a grin.

"I'll help you as long as you help me." Lex said as he reluctantly held out his hand for this alien filth to shake.
