**Glen POV**
I was sitting with my entire family at the dinner table. Thanksgiving was in a few days and we were all just so happy to be together.
My baby sister, Leslie, was newly married and getting ready to welcome her first child. My older sister, Laurie, had four kids and was happily married. Here I was the middle brother single and just loving getting to spend time with my family.
"So did the Jenkins move from across the street?" Leslie asked.
"No...why?" My mom, Cyndy asked.
"Well I just saw a young girl walking into the house today and I know the Jenkins went to California to visit their family there." Leslie said.
I huffed a laugh, "Did you get their itinerary Leslie?"
Everyone chuckled, including Leslie but she shook her head.
"No, I'm just friendly with people."
"Well I talked to the girl when we got here earlier, she was out getting some things from her car." Laurie said.
"Oh! Do tell!" Leslie exclaimed and I just shook my head.
"Hey, Sherlock, Watson...leave the poor girl alone. We don't need to know her life story." I spoke up.
Everyone looked at me oddly knowing it was my sister's job always to investigate.
"Mom! Dad!" Laurie whined and we all laughed.
"Tell us what you know." My father Glenn Sr. said.
"Well her name is Kylie and she is their granddaughter from New York. I guess she was tired of the city and wanted to go somewhere quiet and calm so she is moving in with her grandparents." Laurie explained.
"But with Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins gone, what are her plans for Thanksgiving?" Cyndy asked.
"We didn't ask unfortunately." Laurie said.
"We should invite her to join us!" Leslie squealed very excited.
"What?" I asked shocked.
"Yeah, we should. We don't want anyone alone on thanksgiving." Cyndy said.
"Guys not that I want to be the Debbie Downer here but what if she has plans?" I asked.
"Then she declines the invitation. Come on Glen let's invite her." Cyndy said to her husband.
"I'm okay with it. The more the merrier." Glen Sr. said.
I just sighed but nodded in agreement with everyone.
I wasn't against inviting this girl but I had a lot to consider in my own life. My parents and family were great but a lot of people tried coming in just to get close to me. So now I was going to have to be prepared for that.
