A shadow obscuring her fangs
The simple treasures in life
Are indulged when hidden
Such as those sharp shards that sink deep in the neck only to find copper taste

She sleeps under the dark
A curtain of loneliness
Her heart is reeling on survival even if
Her mind clearly shakes her head saying, "No it's not worth it."

The beast unleashes once in the night
Led by the hunger in her mind
When instinct drives her insane
She sinks in her teeth once again
