November's Calling

It's a new day
Meant to be a new beginning
A new leaf grows on the tree
By the roadside
I watch the months roar past
Like a hurricane that swept a city clean
My future haunts me
It taints my past as a hollow blur
Of empty hopes and reason
As I watch my present
Shatter into the ground with such force
That even I am left breathless
I wither under the harsh glare of the sun
Waiting for another day to come
And pass me by like the
Gray static on a blank tv screen
The winters are lonely
So are the meaninglessness of writing these letters
One by one
As I sit here and wait
The silence grips my chaotic soul
And I am left in a tumultuous array of disillusion
And open words for the world to see.
