When your voice breaks do you hear

the little intones and semblance of warmth

When your eyes close do you see

the veins that line your blood underneath skin

When your laughter lines cease to be

do you wish you were happier

because happiness is incomplete without

and happiness is in pursuit of you

When your ragged edges

lose their sharpness

do you wish you were stronger

your muscles that used to pulsate as you pulled your arms inward

When your tears they dry

do you wish they were moister

because your eyes have shed so much

that you begin to lose sight of what you love

Because when you lose dear, you lose everything.
