Lexi...

"Take a left right here." I instructed to Will as we drove to my parents house.

Taya sat in the backseat, watching her son sleep. "This is going to be weird now that you and your mom are cool. Y'all just going to forget about before?" She asked.

I pushed my shades up on my face. "Hopefully."

We pulled up to the gates of my parents' house.

"Names?" The guard, Phillip asked.

I smiled and leaned over in my seat. "Lexington. Lexington Fuller." I stated with a smile.

"Lexington! Hello, how have you been since you left?" He asked.

"I've been amazing, Phil. It was nice seeing you again. I actually brought your best friend." I told him, cueing for Taya to let her window down.

She let her window down and smiled. "Hey Phil!" She squealed which caused the baby to whine a little in his car seat.

Phillip chuckled and shook his head. "Well hello, Ms. Lott." He greeted and waved at her before letting us in.

We pulled up and parked before grabbing a majority of our things and going to the front door.

I held my carry on bag in front of my stomach to hide it.

"My baby!" My mom said as she reached in for a hug.

I hugged her from the side, kissing her cheek as well.

"Oh my, Taya look at you," She gave Taya a hug as well before glancing down in the car seat. "Oh my goodness, isn't he just the cutest little thing?"

"Ma, meet my boyfriend, Will." I smiled, throwing my arm around his torso.

"Nice to meet you." He smiled and shook her hand.

"Nice to meet you as well. I've been waiting to meet the young man that's been making my perfect daughter so happy."

I mentally rolled my eyes at her false statement, something she'd said in the past said otherwise.

"Come in, it's too hot for you guys to be standing outside." She motioned for us to come in.

Taya stayed in the guest room next to my bedroom.

We arrived a little before dinner time, so we had time to get settled in before it was time to go downstairs and eat.

.....

"I'm starving!" I whined as I walked into the dining room to take my seat at the table.

My father looked up and his eyes widened, along with my mother.

But, her overly dramatic ass had to start screaming and fanning herself.

"What the hell?!" My daddy yelled. "Are you pregnant?"

I placed my hands in my lap. "Yes, I'm pregnant, daddy. Five months. And it's going to be a baby boy." I told him. "I'm so excited. Aren't you, mommy?" I asked before grabbing my glass to drink some water.

Taya was trying to hold in her laughter, already digging into her food.

I looked up at my mother. "...Aren't you, mommy?" I repeated.

She scoffed. "You've only been gone for a year! How are you pregnant?!" She cried.

My daddy rubbed her back to calm her down. "I agree with your mother. And you're way too young to be pregnant. Are you two only together because he got you pregnant?" My daddy pointed at Will and I.

I shook my head. "Because he got me pregnant? In case you didn't know, it takes two to make a child." I held up two fingers.

My daddy cleared his throat and took a sip of his water. "The two of you need to stop this, now- especially in front of company. I thought the two of you patched up your rough relationship and were trying to make things better between the two of you."

I heavily sighed, rubbing the side of my arm before picking up my fork to eat my dinner.

"I'm just saying, you two are too young to be having a baby. So we see what kind of mother you'll be." My mom lowly scoffed. Then she picked up her wine glass, swishing it around a little bit before sipping it.

I was beyond pissed at her rude statement. Although she was my mother, she honestly had no absolute right to make a comment about me being a bad mother to my child in the future due to my age.

She had me when she was 26 years old and my father was 30, and she still wasn't as good of a parent that I will be to my child at my age.

-Flashback to 10 years ago

Lexington was nine years old at the time and had just got back from school on a Friday afternoon. Mother's Day was coming up, so the Lexi's teacher let the class do some projects to give to their mothers.

But, Lexington being the eager and enthusiastic little nine-year-old that she was, she wanted to show her mother the card she'd made as soon as she got home. Even though Lexi was a daddy's girl, she loved her mother just as much.

"Why, hello Ms. Fuller." The maid and Lexington's nanny greeted as Lexi sneaked in the hallway towards her parents' bedroom.

Lexi gasped and stopped dead in her tracks. "Ms. Maria, you scared me!" She giggled and held the card close to her chest. "I'm going to give this to my mommy. Do you think it's nice?" She questioned as she held it out for Maria to see.

"Oh, si, it's muy hermoso."

"That's very beautiful, right?" Lexi asked with a confused look on her face. Maria was teaching her a little bit of Spanish here and there.

"Yes." Maria ruffled up her small head of curls. "Run along, little one."

She walked up to her parents' bedroom, about to knock when she heard her mother shout, "I just hate her! She ruined my damn dreams!" She heard smashing coming from behind the door, like a lamp was thrown at the wall.

The loud bang caused Lexi to jump and clutch onto the card that she was going to give to her mother.

"You are not about to speak about our daughter like that. She's a beautiful little girl and a blessing to this family!" Her dad snapped.

Lexington's bottom lip began to tremble which indicated that she was about to burst into tears at any given moment. "She hates me?" She whispered to herself.

"She's too damn needy! I didn't want kids in the first place. I should've aborted her. I just can't fucking stand her little troublesome ass." Her mother scoffed and sat on the bed, crossing her arms in anger.

Lexi turned to go into her bedroom, dropping the card on her way there. She ended up crying herself to sleep that night. Ever since then, her relationship with her mother has been rocky.

Her mom still doesn't know that Lexi was there listening in on that conversation that afternoon.
