Chapter Sixty-Three: Disney Land

My inspiration is lacking when it comes to this fanfiction, so I do apologise for the blandness if it seems that way.

Ellie

Mark and I had fingers linked, walking through LA on a gorgeous, summers morning. "Where are you taking me?"

Mark chuckled a little. "You'll see."

"Are you taking me someplace secret to show me your true identity?" I fake gasped. "Oh my god, you're batman, aren't you?"

"Oh, yes, you caught me," he laughed, placing a hand on his chest. "Damn it, now my cover is blown."

I giggled at our silliness. "You're going to hit nine million soon."

"Yeah, I know," Mark grinned. "I can't believe how many people have sat behind their screens and have hit that subscribe button."

"It's mind-blowing," I agreed, nodding my head. "Honestly, Mark, where are you taking me? We're not dressed fancy, so it's not a restaurant.." I tried piecing things together.

He suddenly placed something on my head, a headband, of sorts. "What on earth is this?" I questioned, plucking it from my head and examining it. "Mickey mouse ears? What-"

"We're going to Disney Land, you stoop," he laughed. "Have you ever been before?"

I racked my brain. "Uh.. yeah, when I was like four. I only remember snippits - like seeing Ariel."

"Well, I'm taking you back there today," Mark told me. "And it's gonna be a whole lot better than the last time you came here."

"I'll hold you to it," I smirked.

It took a few hours in the car and, as soon as we arrived, the air was filled with the sent of cotton candy and the sound of screaming, cheering children. I couldn't help but feel my childhood memories sneak back into my mind the first time I came here, and a huge grin spread on my face. Mark, Wade, the guys of Cyndago and I spent the entire day walking around, talking to the characters and going on the rides. Rollercoasters weren't exactly my thing, so most of the time I hung back with Wade whilst the rest of them went on the coasters.

At lunchtime, we found a bench to sit at as we tucked into a picnic.

"So, has this been better than the last time you came here?" Mark asked, biting into his sandwich.

I bit into my own and nodded. "Yeah, definitely. Mainly because I can't remember anything from the last time I came."

"Nah, it's just because I'm here," Wade cut in, putting a goofy grin on his face. "Right guys? Right?"

"Yeah, of course Wade. This whole day has been amazing just because of you," I joked. "It's actually been good because of all of you."

"You're cheesy," Mark said with a strange laugh. I shot him a look, curious as to why he had suddenly become so awkward. He looked nervous about something, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Or maybe he wasn't nervous and he was just feeling sick from being on a rollercoaster and then stuffing his face immediately afterwards.

"Are you okay, Mark?" I asked him, putting down my sandwich and looking at him curiously.

Wade nudged him in the side. "Yeah, Mark's fine, aren't you Mark?"

By now, I was really confused.

"What? Yeah, I'm great. Nothing wrong with old Markimoo over here.. hehe," he responded quickly, causing me to recoil a little.
