It was just a normal crime-free day in the tower. Things were slow. And time was going even slower for the eight teenaged superheroes. And when you have super powers you'd want to use them. That's where this story leads. Milagro Ryes, who is a Green Lantern and her big brother is Blue Beetle, had the most powerful weapon in the universe. She was taught to respect the power and be responsible. Which is impossible if your a fun loving teen.

Milagro sat in her room, staring at the ring. It was amazing, the power she held on one finger. Sometimes she asked herself why she couldn't have powers like Chris, Irey, Colin or even no powers like the others. It's not that she's ungrateful, but she can get scared off the power. Nell, Milagro's best friend had just walked in and parked herself on her bed. "Hey, why aren't you with the others?" Milagro sighed and sat up. "No reason, just lost track off time" Nell smiled, "Well come on, Chris and Jai are arguing 'bout who won their game"

Both of them left the room. Three minutes later they entered the Oops room to see Jai and Chris on the sofa arguing, and the others watching them. "Guys calm down, it's just a dumb video game" Everyone's heads snapped up to look at Milagro with a haunted stare. "You did not just say that!" Colin shot back. "This is the best game ever! It's Zombie Slasher 5" Nell put her hands on her hips. "And what makes it different than the other four games?" The others looked at each other.

"Look that's not the point, the point is I totally won and Chris won't admit it" Jai glared "No! I won. Your the liar" They both glared at each other. Lian just sighs from boredom  "Milagro would you please just project the camera footage?" Milagro projected the glow of the ring on the wall and began to show a video from five minutes ago.

Jai and Chris sat on the coach both yelling that they would win. Their gaze never leaving the TV and their thumbs aching from taping multiple buttons. After thirty seconds Chris slams the remote down as Jai laughs in victory. "I won, I won! Yes" Chris then stands up and crushes the remote.

The video stops and everyone turns to a blushing Chris. He rubs the back off his neck and says. "Guys, I'm sorry. I guess Jai won. I kinda have anger issues" Meanwhile, Green Lantern had been watching with the Justice League in the Watchtower. "She just misused her powers, again" Green Lantern spoke. "Maybe we should just take the ring off her?" Wonder Women piped in. "We can't do that. What if we need her?" Flash fired back. "Then we'll find someone else. Clearly she isn't ready for the power"

The League, flashed into the Titans Oops room. Everyone turned to them. "Father" Batman nodded. "Damian" They all turned their attention to Milagro. "We're here to take your ring" The team stared in shock. "What? why?!" Green Lantern floated towards her and Blue Beetle was behind her. "Your not ready for the power. And I fear you never will be. It's for your own good.- Green Lantern held out a gloved hand- the ring please" Milagro looked fearful. She looked down at her ring and back up at the Lantern. Slowly she took off the ring and placed it in his hand. Milagro turned and cried in her big brother's embrace.

TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

It had been three days and Milagro didn't come out off her room, or talk or even eat. She was a mess. She just wanted to make the world a better place. She wanted to be a hero, needed to be. The team had left for a mission to help the league. Alien space crafts were attacking the Watchtower. It was then the TV turned itself on and Milagro listened as Batman told earth that the heroes might not make it back. Seeing that the world needed her Milagro jumped up.

They said she wasn't ready. What did they know? They said she might never be. How can they be certain? And who were they to judge? Maybe she wasn't ready. Maybe she never would be, but the world needed her. And she'd be damned if she would listen to psychotic grown-ups. With that, Milagro was already in the Bat-cave, in the Bat jet and ready to blast off.

Within an hour, Milagro had reached the station. Alien space ships hovered above the giant 'tower' Only five off the heroes could fly. And a few off them were already down. Just at that, a beam shot down at Green Lantern and he had fallen. And out of his hand fell, her ring. Just inches away. Milagro slid the ring onto her petty finger. All the heroes were out. She flew over to the invaders. With a glare she held up her fist and made a large green hammer the size of a lorry.

And Milagro slammed it down into the ship. Sending it billions of light years away.

"What you did was very noble. Thank you for saving us" Superman smiled down at the youngest Lantern. Green Lantern stepped forward. "But, the ring" He held out his hand. Everyone watched the heroines, as she looked down at her ring. Milagro brought her fingers around the ring. But stopped and looked up at the league. "No. I'm keeping it. You may not think that i'm not ready. And maybe your right, but I know that if you take this away the world will suffer. See this isn't about me. This isn't about you snooty heroes thinking everything is up to you, oh no"

"This is about earth. And the people on it. I've been using the ring for my use and my friends- She glanced at her friends by her side- But I was wrong. Wrong to be selfish. When you took the ring away, I only thought about how I would get by without it. But then I realized. I don't have the ring because I wanted it. I have the ring because I need it and so do the people of earth. I'm not a hero because I want to be. I'm a hero because I need to be. And I don't give a Robin's ass- Damian glared- what you have to say" Every member of Milagro's team stared in astonishment. No one had ever  spoken to the JLA like that. And the League did the same.

Green Lantern just smiled. "And I'll let you keep it"
