PHANTOM

Chapter 7

I blink my eyes open and groan at the pain that assaults my head. What the hell happened. I look around to find myself back in my room on my bed. Maybe it was all just a dream. It's a relief I don't have to go back home. I sit up and walk out of the room.

I stop in my tracks when I enter the living room. Their chatter stops as soon as they spot me. Lloyd jumps up and hugs me. Almost crushing me.

"What's wrong? I was just sleeping."

He pulled back frowning. "You don't know what happened?"  I look at the others but they aren't any help. Reese, Adam and Calum were still seated watching me closely.

"I overslept?"

"No, you idiot. You blew up. When you got angry you sort of emitted a white explosion from your body. Then you passed out. After knocking every one out." Adam said slanting his head and giving me a curious look.

I panicked. I hope everyone was okay. "No one's hurt right. I don't think I'll be able to forgive myself if someone got hurt,"  "shh... don't worry. Everyone's okay. You're the last one to wake up," Lloyd assured me. He guided me to sit down and placed a cup of coffee in my hands. I whispered a thank you and took a sip calming my nerves.

"So?" I asked when no one spoke.

"So what?"

"What happened? Why are you all quiet?"

Reese rubbed the back of his neck. "Well, it's just that... everyone got their powers after the explosion." I stared at him blankly. Powers. Powers. I thought... no they're lying. Are they trying to say that my explosion (which I'm not sure I believe) gave people powers - eh, I'm sure their just joking.

"Good one guys,"

But they weren't laughing. "It's the truth and the Mistress wanted to see you immediately after you woke up. So you should probably get ready," Reese said motioning for me to go to my room.

I walk out of my room to find Reese waiting for me. He led me out of the dorms and to the hallways.

"So how are you really feeling?" he asked.

"I'm still processing everything. Two days ago I was disowned by my family because I don't have any powers. Today I wake up to find out that not only do I have powers but I gave the whole Academy powers."

He sighed turning me around so I was facing him. "I know it's difficult but it happened and even if we just met. I know that Lloyd, the guys and me are not great friends to you yet, but we'll be here when you need anything."

I smile staring at him. They are the first friends I've ever had, since I was always homeschooled. "Thank you."

"Well hello brother," a voice said behind me. I turned around with my eyes wide. What the hell was he doing here?
