It's been a week since my encounter with my father and brother. Everyone had powers now at the Academy. Just a few of them returned home to their families. Most of the students decided to stay back. I was sort of a celebrity since the news got around that I was the one who gave them powers. I'm still not used to the attention I get from them, but Lloyd and the others say it'll fade soon.

"I want a popsicle," Calum whined.

"Okay,"Reese said boredly. He knows Calum was asking him to make him one but he was playing dumb. The past three days there have been classes teaching students how to control their powers. Reese has pretty much masterd his snow abilities.

"Come on just make me one. You made one for Luc yesterday," he pouted. "please, please, please, please, please..." he continued when Reese ignored him.

We were interrupted by the cafeteria doors slamming open. The room got quiet as we all turned to see who it was. I gasp.
It's my family. My parents and brother. Behind them was a group of men and women. They entered heading for our table. I shivered at the power they held. I could tell they were very powerful. So my father went running to the Council. How petty.

"Luc Mikael-"

"Luc Burton," I corrected but this only made my father glare. I just shrug. I could care less.

A man in a white robe with white hair stepped forward. I turned my gaze to him.

"We came to take you back to your land. We also have questions," he said and I could feel the pull from his voice. He's trying to compulse me to doing what he wants. I smiled.

"I'll answer your questions. As for leaving with you... I don't think so."

"You ingrate who do you think you're talking to?" my father shouted. I don't care there's no way I'm going back to that house. No fucking way.

"You only have two choices child," a woman in a purple robe said, "either you come with us or we kill you right now."

I frown. "Why kill me though?" She walked forward till she was standing right in front of me.

"You're different, something we take to be a threat. We don't like having our positions threatened," she explained not even afraid that all the other students could hear her . I nod in understanding. Now it made sense why they're all here. "so what's your choice little one? Choose wisely."  she gave me a sleazy smile. Everyone was quiet. I could feel their piercing stares as they all waited for my answer. I stared at her blankly, moving my gaze to the ones behind her. I could see my father fighting a smile. Drew wasn't even trying to hide his smirk. All the others had blank expressions, including my mother.

I turn to my new friends. I smile sadly at their concerned expressions.

"Don't Luc," Reese whispered when I looked at him. He knows what I want. He already knows what I'll choose but I can't can't go back. I'd rather die. Will they really kill me? There's only one way to find out...

"I'm not going with you," I said firmly my gaze back to the woman. She sighed and turned her back to me.

Before I could register anything, she whirled around and I gasped as a sharp pain pierced my chest. I look down to see only the handle of a dagger with her hand around it.

"You really don't waste time do you," I whispered making her smile. She pulled the dagger out and I fall back, thankfully into someone's arms. I watch as she wipes the blood with a white clothe.

"Luc," I look up to Reese. He's the one holding me. All my friends gather around watching me worriedly. Lloyd was pressing something on my chest, he was sobbing loudly. Did he care that much? If so, I'm glad I got the chance to meet him. I try to speak but my throat hurts and I cough as something leaks out of my mouth. Is that blood. I cough again but cut it off when the pain became unbareruble.

Oh God it hurts so much. I just want it to stop.

"Hold on Luc," someone chocked next to me. My vision was getting blurry and I could feel my heart beat slowing. I gasp before everything goes black.
