I sighed and carefully walked my way to help Des put the groceries up. "Im ready to be able to move around normally." Des shook her head. "Being impatient is not going to get you nowhere. Take it day by day. I be watching, your making progress, slowly, but it's happening. Calm down." I looked at Des as she put the milk in the fridge. I love that girl so much. I know she's right, she always is.
"Man bro my last day was last week and I got one more week until I can work again." Zoe and I tapped our beer bottles. "I know you happy, that's good. I been waiting for you to get back on your feet. Soon I'll be whooping that ass on the court again." I shook my head. "Zoe how is Jas taking the you having a daughter thing." I watched as she drink some more of her beer. "She coming around. She loves Ursa, Ursa loves her. You should see how they interact, it's so beautiful man. But the fact I have to deal with Whitney is where the problem at. You know how she is bro, a fuckin handful." I shook my head and drunk some more beer. "You made that bed, lay in it. Reassure Jas she has nothing to worry about. You come home to her, Zakai, & Jo. She needs to know that everyday. You got to make shit right, you got to keep it right. You got to fix it." I could tell Zoe was taking it all in. "Bro have you ever looked at Des and thought about what if you didn't want to be with her?" I looked at her crazy. "Fuck no, that's my baby. Ion need or want nobody else. Why?" Zoe scratched her head and sighed. "Sometimes I still see myself with Whit." I shook my head, got up and walked off. Stopped in my tracks and turned around. "You fuckin stupid bro. You got a damn good girl, you got a daughter, a nephew/son and she still around. You wouldn't have none of this shit with Whitney. The house? The nice ass car? Jas helped you.
