✶New Year
-acb.
I sit quietly among the noise of chaos—of celebration echoing through the vast night sky.
The old year is dying. It's end shall be a beginning, something born anew.
As I see my present become something of the past, I reminisce it's presence that was ever changing.
Oh what a year that has passed by, so quickly yet leaving chronic wounds.
This year has taught me many things, among them is the cycle of beginning and end. Life and death. I have resisted change so much so that it came hurling towards me with it's harsh winds and cold embrace. Life has changed and morphed too many times for my liking, it is a kind of rope that's slowly making its way around my neck.
I've been thinking of heaven—of you.
Whch is to say, nothing will make someone into a believer like grief.
I hope that's it's true and that you're resting and content.
I am slowly learning to let you go, but I fear I still have a long way to go.
Life was going so good,
and then you were gone.
But time that passes is forgotten, though I shall never forget you.
We expect the rise of a new constellation, of a new beginning that shall bring memories that will be cherished like the memories that came before it.
Life's joy will forever come with it's despair.
That is life: We laugh, we weep, we hope, we fear—that's the burden of the year and the years to come.
As the end of the year and it's once beginning past through before my eyes, I welcome the blank slate that is ahead of me.
Let us nourish beginnings,
Not all things are best, but the
seeds of all things are blest.
Today I want to embrace the past, present, and the coming future.
I want to walk in the cold blessing of the starry night sky, and lift my face to the new year that is ahead of me.
The year opens, again—
(here i am, here i am)
I shall cherish it's beginning and end, and everything in between.
