✶ Oh no.
-acb.
I'm restless, harsh and despairing.
Always looking but never truly seeing
—I wish for love yet I pull away the second I feel its warmth,
For I mistake it for a burning that will leave a scar.
My admiration move to its subjects like a parasite,
Always looking for a host to latch on to.
Always looking for a spark that will light my dying fire
—And then this fateful day came and it found you.
You—an utter foreign subject,
A glaring color to my mundane scenery,
Have hooked me so completely
That I worry for my sanity.
I have mistaken what September brings.
From its cold welcoming breeze,
And its tender rays,
It brought you.
I want so obviously and desperately
—Why must my emotions be bigger than my body?
My mind wavers to the simple thought of you,
The distance between us haunts and reassures me.
I am not in love with you: I don't even know you. I repeat like a mantra.
But before this admiration grows
Into something that I will surely regret
In the coming days.
—I must bid my farewell
before I could even meet you.
For I know this story ends the same way as all things go.
What do they say about preventing
catastrophes before it even happens?
An act of self preservation.
So this is goodbye, my hopeless dream.
A simple farewell before you ruin me.
