A/N - Taking a break from thirsting over Steve Harrington (I've prewritten like 4 Steve chapters for you guys, but am spreading them out a little) to deliver a little soft, domestic Eddie chapter for you guys. This one was semi-inspired by the song Love by Lana Del Ray, which I actually could have already used for inspiration in the past, but at this point, who's even keeping score? I hope you all enjoy it.

Eddie had been dog tired when he'd finished work this evening, dragging his way out of the garage and to his van. At this point, the only thing making his feet move, forcing him to keep taking step after step, was the thought of you waiting for him at home.

You'd only moved in with Eddie a couple of months back, realising that you would save a small fortune by sharing rent rather than each paying separately, and he'd never been so happy to have made a decision. He loved coming home. He loved calling out a cheesy 'Honey, I'm home,' into the trailer. He adored the smile you would give him, the way you would wrap yourself around him as you welcomed him home, pressing a soft kiss to his lips.

It made the long hours worth it to come home to you. Made life easier to not have to figure out whose place you'd stay at and when.

So tonight, despite being coated in grease and his muscles protesting from the heavy lifting he'd had to do, he was looking forward to walking through that door and getting to see you.

He'd been grinning as he grabbed the mail from the box at the end of the path up to your door, leafing through the envelopes as he took the steps two at a time, another part of his daily routine now that you lived with him.

"Honey," he called out, his words trailing off when he'd gotten the door fully open, finding you on the couch, stretched out all awkwardly in an attempt to keep your shoes off of the furniture, a rule you'd implemented and broken a hundred times already, fast asleep with some news channel droning out of the TV.

Eddie let out a soft sigh as he closed the door behind him, moving to kneel in front of you, brushing his fingers over your cheek gently before leaning forward to press a kiss to your temple. You looked so pretty like this, your face more relaxed than usual, your eyelashes fanned out across the apples of your cheeks. Hell, you were always beautiful, but he would never get tired of being the one person who got to see you like this.

He let out a soft groan as he pushed himself back to full height, his knees whining under the pressure. Eddie moved slowly, gently pulling the shoes from your feet and lifting your legs fully onto the couch, settling you more comfortably into the cushions. And then he'd grabbed the throw you'd brought with you, tugging it from the back of the couch and shaking it out to its full size before draping it over your sleeping form.

He'd hesitated for a short moment, then, watching you breathe peacefully, your face all squished into the couch cushions. Finally, he leaned down, pressing another quick kiss to your temple, before switching off the TV, plunging the room into dimness, the only light coming from the last few minutes of sun creeping through the half-drawn curtains.

*Time Skip*

You'd woken to complete darkness, your eyes blinking, fighting to adjust to the pitch black of the room, and your brain trying its hardest to figure out where you were. You knew you'd been at work today. You knew you'd driven back home. And then it was all a bit fuzzy. You didn't remember dinner. You didn't remember Eddie coming home. And you definitely didn't remember going to bed.

Your breath caught in your throat slightly as you pushed yourself to sit up, your eyes still not quite able to make out your surroundings in the darkness.

"Eddie?" you called out quietly.

Your blanket felt wrong. Your bed felt wrong. And God, you could feel panic rising in your chest as you tried to place yourself.

"Eddie?" you called louder, and suddenly the darkness was broken, your living room coming into view courtesy of a light at the other end of the trailer.

Eddie had poked his head around the bathroom door, watching you with a small frown. "Hey, Baby," he hummed softly, his brow furrowing. "What's wrong?"

You hesitated for a moment, catching your breath. "It was really dark," you finally confessed, biting down on the inside of your cheek. You knew how stupid it made you sound, really, you did, but you couldn't lie to Eddie; you didn't want to. "I didn't know where you were," you added, your voice a little softer now.

"Oh Sweetheart," he uttered, coming out into the living room with a towel wrapped around his waist. "I didn't mean to scare you, Baby," he added softly, slipping onto the couch beside you.

It was then that you realised his hair was dripping with water, his skin slick. "You were showering," you started.

"I did an oil change this afternoon, and it was clearly long overdue. I got covered in the stuff-"

"You were halfway through a shower," you pressed on.

He shrugged slightly. "Heard my girl calling my name. Had to come and see what she needed."

Your expression softened at his comment. "You're getting the couch wet," you chastised lightly, though there was no venom in your voice, not even a hint that you were actually concerned.

He chuckled, leaning in to press a kiss to your lips before standing up. "You want to come tell me about your day while I finish up, Baby?"

A soft snort of laughter slipped out of you as he took your hand, already leading you to the bathroom. "You sure you don't mind?"

"You're kidding, right?" he hummed. "I'd be honoured to have you keeping me company in here."

"Idiot," you murmured as he ushered you over to the sink, lifting you onto the counter as gently as he could manage, drawing a squeal out of you as he did so.

"Now, tell me about work," he started, pressing another quick kiss to your lips before dropping his towel and climbing back into the shower.
