A/N - Heeeeey, I actually started writing this chapter back in early October with the intention of uploading it as a Halloween special, but now it's December, we're basically at Christmas already, and I've only just finished it, so sorry... This one was semi-inspired by Heathers because I just love the idea of Reader dressing up as Veronica and basically begging Eddie to dress up as Jason/J.D. And we just all know that he'd pretend to think it's a pain in the ass to do a couple's costume, but his nerdy little heart would actually LOVE it. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy it.
"Eddie," you whined, trailing him around the record store as he went in search of the new Bolt Thrower album, pausing to leaf through each section, even though the guy at the register had already told you he'd never heard of the band, and likely didn't have the album.
"Sweetheart," he warned quietly, attempting to hide his smile as you wrapped your arms around his middle, sighing against his back as he continued his search. "I've never even seen Heathers," he sighed softly, reaching up to run his hand over your arm where it rested in his stomach.
"So?"
"So it would be a little weird if I dressed up as one of the characters, wouldn't it?" he pressed on, turning around to look down at you, a half-assed smile pulling at the corner of his lips. "Why do we have to wear matching costumes? Why can't I just go as Michael Myers? I've already got the mask-"
His words trailed off when he saw the deep frown on his lips. "But then no one would know that I was supposed to be Veronica. I'd just be some girl in a plaid skirt."
"And you have to be Veronica because-"
"Because she's cool, and I loved that movie. It's my favourite."
He sighed again, shaking his head. "Sweetheart, this seems like a lot of work," he breathed, reaching up to brush your hair out of your face. "It's just Halloween."
You scoffed slightly, untangling yourself from Eddie's grip. "Fine," you bit out, moving along to the next row of records, attempting to look interested as you began looking through them.
"Baby," he breathed, reaching out for you again just for you to move out of his reach. "Sweetheart," he pressed, following along behind you as you moved along again. "Y/N, please," he finally huffed. "Fine, I'll wear the stupid costume, but you have to stay right next to me all night long, because if someone asks me what I'm dressed as, I won't know what to say."
You squealed as you launched yourself at Eddie, grinning wider than he had ever seen as you leaned up to press a kiss to his lips. "You're the best boyfriend ever, you know that?" you mumbled against his lips, chuckling when he rolled his eyes at you. "You know, Family Video is right down the street. We could rent the movie and watch it tonight, and then you'll know everything there is to know about J.D."
He let out a soft chuckle at your enthusiasm, leaning down to kiss you again. "Anything you want, Baby."
*Time Skip*
You were grinning as you added the finishing touch to your costume, messing up your hair just enough to replicate the final scene of Heathers.
Eddie released a soft whistle as he moved to lean against the door frame, smiling at you through the mirror you were sitting in front of. "My girl knows how to sell a costume, huh?" he hummed, drawing a soft chuckle out of you.
You finally turned in your seat, eyeing up his outfit. "Well, you're nailing yours. That coat looks perfect on you," you started, getting to your feet to press a quick kiss to his lips, careful to avoid getting any of your fake blood on him. Not that it would have mattered. You were both coated in a combination of dirt and fake blood.
"How'd you still look so hot in all that grime?" he grumbled, his hand squeezing at your hip. "I've half a mind to cancel our party appearance and just keep you all to myself," he added, fiddling gently with the hem of your skirt.
"Idiot," you teased quietly, fighting back the eye roll. "I told you it wouldn't be such a hard costume, didn't I?" you added, fixing his coat collar slightly. "I basically just rumaged around the Salvation Army for this stuff."
"Yeah, yeah, go on, say 'I told you so'," he murmured, still smiling softly at you.
"Well," you hummed. "I did tell you so," you added, squealing with laughter when he jabbed his finger into your side. "I did," you exclaimed again. "And just to think, you wanted to wear that hideous Michael Myers mask and cover this handsome face," you pressed on, reaching up to cup his cheek. "Can you imagine how inconvenient that would've been when you were half drunk and all needy?" you teased. "This way, you can just kiss me whenever you want," you added, watching as his smile grew, his arms wrapping around you properly.
"You think my face is handsome?"
You chuckled softly. "Do I not tell you that enough already?" you hummed.
"I could stand to hear it again," he teased, his fingers brushing the skin just between the hem of your t-shirt and the waistband of your skirt.
You let out a soft, contented sigh. "You are the most handsome man I have ever seen," you confessed quietly. "Thank you for embracing all the weird stuff I ask you to do with me," you added, watching his expression soften.
"You know, there is no one else on the planet that I would ever dream of dressing up for?" he confessed quietly. "But, Sweetheart, you've got me wrapped around your little finger. You could've asked me to be Bernard, and I would've said yes to make you happy."
Your brow furrowed slightly. "Bernard?"
"That one mouse in The Rescuers. You know the one, little and cute with the tiny hat. We only watched it a couple of weeks ago, Baby. How do you not remember him?"
"You would dress as a cartoon mouse for me?" you started again, your expression all soft and loving, leaving Eddie's stomach full of butterflies.
He shrugged slightly. "I'd do anything for you, Sweetheart."
