You sat down at the Hufflepuff table with your half-blood and muggle-born friends, you were a muggle-born yourself. It was a new year, the first years were walking through to get sorted. Looking at them you saw a girl with short blue hair paired with hazel eyes walking at the back of the group, "Hazel Bellmore!" McGonagall yell, the girl quickly made her way to the seat with a stone-cold expression, "Hmm... strange... very strange indeed... you have the brain of a Slytherin... yet you have the heart of a Hufflepuff..." the hat spoke slowly, she rolled her eyes making some students giggle. She looked over at the Hufflepuff table, giving all the students a small smile "Okay then... right... HUFFLEPUFF!" shouted the brown sorting hat, the girl ran over to the table, taking an empty seat a few down from you.

Spacing out for a few moments you snapped back to reality to find Malfoy staring at you from across the hall, when he saw you caught him he shook his head before looking away to talk to his friends.

~Time skip to free period~

Malfoy trudged up to you with his goons, "What were you looking at Filthy Mudblood!" He said with venom in his down, you just looked down walking away. With every step you took you could feel his smirk burning into your skin, you'd had enough. Turning around you looked up, glaring at him, storming over. "I MAY BE MUGGLE-BORN AND I MAY BE A HUFFLEPUFF BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO DO THIS TO ME!" you practically screamed, seething with anger. His goons all backed up slightly as they saw you bring out your wand, "stupefy..." you muttered, sending Draco flying. Crabbe and Goyle started freaking out, running over to him. You let out a giggle before you ran off, to not get caught.

~Time skip to 5th year~

You shut your book and sighed. You were sat down in the library, revising for an upcoming potions exam. Rubbing your eyes you pushed yourself up, turning around you saw Draco standing behind you. He had a slightly concerned expression on his face, "Yes Malfoy?" you asked, in a polite-ish tone "I was wondering what you were crying about" he asked "Nothing" you stated, placing your study book into your messenger bag, walking away from him once again.

~Time skip a week~

You looked around, seeing Draco walking down a corridor you decided to follow him. After a while he ended up sitting down on some steps, believing to be alone. A few moments later you watched as he covered his face, small sniffles coming from him as he shook, pulling his legs up to his chest. In slight shock at what you were witnessing, you walked over, pulling him into your arms to comfort him "Hey..." you muttered soothingly "It'll be alright...". You continued to soothe him for a short while before he had finally calmed down, looking up at you with tear-stained cheeks with a small smile "Thank you (Y/N)..." his voice was hoarse, almost as if he had been holding in his tears for a long time, you simply nodded with a caring smile.

You had never seen this side of Draco, the sad, unwanted vibe that he gave off. As if no one had ever cared for him or made sure he was actually doing well. You two ended up speaking for a short while, you had never taken the time to get to know him and within doing you learnt you never truly knew who he was, how he felt, what was going on in his life. "Well... I better set off... Herbology started ten minutes ago" he chuckled, you gasped immediately grabbing your things running off to class "I'm sorry! I have to go I'll see you after class!" You yelled "I'll see you then!" he yelled back. This was going to be amazing, you both knew it.
