Chapter 2

Dad agreed for me to go with aunty Marie. He seems very sad, I don't want to go if he's going to be sad. Mama was very happy for the past few days she kept saying "my baby girl will make me proud." I really want to make mama happy.

Aunty kept saying I'm going to be happy. She kept saying you're going to have fun. I don't like when aunty smiles. She seems nice, but her eyes look scary. Her eyes don't smile like mamas, or dad's.

Everyone keeps rushing me, everyone keeps asking if I'm ready. Mama is crying and everyone is very loud and all over the place. Is it time to go? So soon. I feel sad now. I'm going to miss my mama.

"Dont talk to strangers... listen to aunty... don't leave aunty, always hold her hand... help aunty out... be good at you new school... you will make a lot of friends" mama and dad keep are saying all these things to me. They look worried. Dad has watery eyes. Oh please don't cry dad. I don't want to see you cry, it will make me cry. Mama is already sobbing but that's okey she's always crying. Dad never cries, I don't want to make him sad. Is it my fault? "Daddy don't cry" I say and wipe his tears away. He gives me a big hug, I don't want to let go.

"Hurry up we have to go!" Aunty Marie is calling me. I don't want to go. she comes inside and ask if I'm ready. I look at her I feel like crying. " I need to say bye to my brother and sisters" she looks a bit angry, but puts smile on.

I hug my siblings, I don't say anything we just hug and they cry. I try hard not to cry, it will make it worse. I give mum a hug and she gives me lots of kisses I giggle, it really tickles " I love you mama" I hug her tight. " I love you too, be good baby"

I give dad last hug, he starts to cry. I can't help it anymore and cry too. I don't want to let go of him. My daddy. I will miss my daddy. " bye daddy" I say, I think its really time to go. "Bye Victoria, daddy loves you"

Aunty takes my hand and my bag. We leave and walk to a bus station. I sit on the bus and fall asleep.
