Charlie was sat in her corner, tying a piece of rope to a broken chair leg that Tyler had broken off to make a make-shift bat. Ashlyn and Ben were sat in the other free corner, Ben cleaning and patching up her arm, while Tyler and Taylor were breaking chair legs and Logan was cutting rope for Chalie to tie on the wood.
Charlie's eyes were suddenly pulled away from what she was doing by the sound of glass shattering. She looked over at Aisen who now held a broken glass bottle in his hand. Her eyes narrowed in confusion at the boy's actions as he spoke, "Aye look, another weapon!"
His smile stayed bright as Tyler snapped at him, "Hey watch it! You should've done that in the bathroom, now there's glass everywhere!"
He had a point, there was broken shards of glass all over the floor by where Aiden was standing.
Logan stood up, "I-I'll get the broom."
"I'll help." Charlie stood up with him, grabbing a bag to put the glass shards into.
Once the glass was all cleaned up, Charlie was able to zone back into the conversation between the blonde boy and ginger girl.
"I never took you for the leader type." Aiden said, crouching down next to Ashlyn as Ben continued to clean her arm.
"...I'm not. But my parents are." Ashlyn looked over to the boy next to her.
"Your parents?" Charlie questioned. While Charlie had known Ashlyn for a long time, she still didn't know a lot about the girl, so learning new things about her was extremely interesting.
The girl nodded, "They're both from the military."
"Ahh." Charlie's eyebrows raised for a second as she nodded along.
"So you're used to being told what to do in a situation like this." Aiden's words sounded more like statement rather then a question.
Ashlyn's eyes narrowed at his words, "Well not a situation like this-"
Aiden cut her off, "Then so you also knew self defence?" He sounded extremely interested in the thought of her being able to fight.
"I've taken a few kick-boxing classes." She shrugged as Ben closed the medical box, having finally finished cleaning and wrapping her arm.
Ashlyn waved her arm, "Thanks, Ben. You're pretty good at this."
Charlie looked over at the ginger's arm, seeing it expertly bandaged.
Aiden smiled as he also looked at the bandaging his cousin did, "LOL yeah, he's used to patching me up."
Charlie cocked an eyebrow at the blonde boy, "...From?"
The boy now turned his attention to Charlie, "Mm, various things?" He started listing events, "Skateboarding tricks, rock climbing, hiking, jumping off tall places, stuff like that?"
Charlie nodded at the boy before questioning him again, "Hiking? How do you get hurt by literal walking?"
Aiden just shrugged as Ashlyn stood up and walked over to Tyler and Taylor still ripping chair legs from chairs, "How many of these do we have?"
Taylor looked around them before looking at where Charlie had put down the finished make-shift bats, "Uh, eight including the ones we're taking off right now."
Ashlyn picked one of the finished make-shift bats, looking at them with a nod.
"It's been quiet for a while now..." Taylor spoke, her voice shakey, "D-Do you think the monsters are gone?"
Ashlyn's eyes narrowed her eyes and shook her head, "Nope. Still there."
Charlie looked at the girl with a curious look, "And how, exactly, do you know that, I can't hear shit."
