"Welcome to the Sorrel Weed house!" The creepy-smile lady spoke when they stopped outside an old house, scattered with vines and over grown bushes,

A grim look appeared on Charlie and Ashlyn's faces when the pair looked up at the definitely haunted building.

Without another word, the lady walked into the house and gestured for the group to follow her. Taylor and Aiden basically jumped for joy and speed-walked to follow her, Logan and Tyler walked in after the excited pair, Ben and Charlie stood at the entrance with hesitation, their eyes darting to the others

Walking into the building, Charlie felt her eyes dart around the room at all of the old decorations and all the new looking furniture. "So, this is the foyer. Most everything in the house is original with the exception of the furniture and the paint on the wall."  Charlie felt her head nod at the lady's words, so thats why the house looks old on the outside but new on the inside, she thought.

She watched as the rest of the group looked around the place, Logan looking interested, Ashlyn, Tyler and Ben looking bored and very uninterested and Taylor and Aiden looking overly excited as their heads dart around the room.

The lady moved to a different room of the house motioning for the group to follow her. They stopped in the next room which had a painting of a man, the painting immediately pulling the focus of the room.

"This is the Francis Sorrel library and the man you see in this portrait is Robert E. Lee." The lady pointed up at the photo, Charlie's eyes didn't have to follow her hand, her eyes having never left the painting since they walked into the room. "Lee was a dear friend of Francis who visited the Sorrel house quite often."

Charlies eyes narrowed at the painting, not understanding why it would be there if the man didn't live there. She felt a hand on her arm causing her eyes to dart away from the painting and to the owner of the hand.

Ben.

She locked eyes with his as she saw him type something on his phone and she felt hers vibrate in her pocket.

Ben🤫

You okay?

yeah just that painting is creepy af

It really is LOL

Charlie smiled at her phone and looked up at Ben to see a matching smile on his face as well.

Ring
Ring
Ring

Charlie's eyes immediately left Ben's and darted to the lady. "Ah... I'm so sorry, this is my emergency phone." She spoke, reaching for the phone in her pocket. "I have to take this. I'll be right back. Continue looking around if you want but don't touch anything." She said as she walked out of the room and disappeared from view.

Well, that was weird, Charlie thought.

"Well, that's super professional." Tyler spoke up as the group stood slightly shocked and confused.

"I-I don't think that's professional..." Logan said quietly, obviously not understanding that sarcastic tone in the Hernandez boys voice.

"I was being sarcastic." Tyler stated in a slightly bored and annoyed tone.

"Oh..." Logan replied softly

Charlie rolled her eyes at the interaction until Taylor spoke up. "Eh, an emergency is an emergency." She shrugged, "It'll be more fun to explore on our own anyways!"

The excited tone of the Hernandez girls voice brought a smile to Aiden's and Logan's faces as the group walked out of the room and into other parts of the house, at all the old artifacts, paintings and the new furniture that decorated the rooms.

At some point the group ended up in the basement of the house, much to Charlie's dismay.

"Ugh, I really hate this." She shivered at they walked into the dark room. She looked to her left at the quiet boy next to her, a smile on his face as if he was laughing. "Hey, it's not funny! I'm serious, this place is freaky." Charlie looked around their surroundings as Ben's smile widened.

"Why is she wearing earplugs?" Tyler spoke refering to Ashley who had a black earplug in her hand.

"Ah! I thought they were wireless earbuds?!" Aiden spoke up rather loudly at his realisation, causing Charlie and Ben to shack their heads. In the next moment, however, Ashlyn grabs the ear that she just took the earplug out of and winced causing Charlie's eyebrows to frown in both confusion and worry.

Ashlyn shook her head and spoke, "They're earplugs. I wear them because of my sensitivity to..." Her voice hesitated for a moment, eyes widening, "...Sounds."

The girls tone confused Charlie. "Oops." Aiden replied with a chuckle, "My bad. I thought they were for music." Ashlyn never replied to the boy, only started looking into space looking uncomfortable and scared, clenching her fists.

"Oh, that room looks cool!" Taylor spoke up, pulling Charlie's attention off of the spaced out girl and to the rest of the group, only to see Taylor hesitate and look towards Ashlyn.

Charlie followed her eyes to see Ashlyn still staring at nothing. "... You alright, Ashlyn?" Charlie asked the girl watching her exhale, "You look pale."

She watches as Ashlyn puts her earplug back into her ear before she replied, "I'm fine." Her eyes had finally broken from the area she had been staring at, causing Charlie to look at that exact spot. Her eyes widened as she sees a dark figure poking around the corder Ashlyn was looking at, her breath hitching at the sight.

She sees Ashlyn turn around to face the group only to freeze seeing all their shocked and scared faces.

"A-Ashlyn..." Logan stuttered out, "...Behind you."

Charlie felt Ben push her behind him, his arm protectively across her body. Her hand subconsiously went to his shoulder, a pit in her stomach at the creepy smiling figure.

Ashlyn's eyes wided at Logan's words, looking stuch in her spot as the shadow appeared a mear meater behind her.

What the fuck?!
