Today turned out oh so fantastic. (Sarcasm) School was a TOTAL wreck and I wanted to cry, so I decided I was going to walk home. It wasn't too long of a walk back home, thankfully, but it was raining. I knew my 'father' would be pissed at me but I truly just didn't care. I knew I was going to get the shit beat out of me anyways.
A few dozen cars passed me on my walk, until one ever so familiar car stopped. Oh no! It was HIM.
"Hey! Get in here! It's raining! You're going to get sick!" Robert shouted over the pounding rain.
"No! I'm fine!" I hissed back.
He pulled over to the side of the road and jumped out. He jogged over to me and pulled on my arm, making me fall on top of him.
"Robert! Why did you do that?!"
"You need to get in the car. It's pouring."
"Fine!" I shouted pouting. I got up and quickly got into his car. It was super warm in there. I smiled a little. He trudged to his side and quickly hopped in and shut his door. He peeked at me and I glowered at him.
"What?" I asked accusingly.
"Nothing bumbles."
"What did you call me?"
"Bumbles. Why? Don't like it?" He grinned wickedly. I grumbled back. He laughed.
"I'm gettin' out," I announced. I opened the door since we still were stopped, he grabbed my arm.
"No, please don't. Listen, I'm sorry. Please let me take you home," he begged. I stared at him for a moment then sighed and shut my door.
"Fine, but please take me back now."
He checked to see if he could pull back onto the road and then started driving. Neither of us spoke for the rest of the ride. I casually leaned my head on the window and closed my eyes. The next thing I knew someone was shaking me. Did I fall asleep?
"Hey c'mon. We're at your place," Robert spoke softly. I rubbed my eyes, then quickly looked for a car. I saw none. I grinned widely as I stepped out of the car.
"Thanks for the ride!" I thanked him.
"Any time, bumbles."
I laughed. "Yeah, yeah... I'll text you later?"
"Okay!" He replied happily. "Talk to you then."
He whipped out of the drive. I laughed and waved. I turned and went inside. "Hey sis I'm home!"
There was no answer. I hurried upstairs with my bag to see if maybe she was asleep. She wasn't. Oh no. Where is she? I thought to myself. Then I got a text from an unknown number. I opened it.
Hey sis, it's me. Just wanted to say I'm at a friends for the night.

I replied a quick text telling her to be safe. Great. Now I'm home alone. I hated being home alone. I was always afraid something bad would happen and then HE would punish me for it. I turned of all of the lights and electronics and went up to my room. I texted Robert.
Hey. I'm home alone. :( What's up? Did you make it home? - Rion
I set my phone down on my bed and went to my almost bare closet. I took out an old tank top and some sweatpants along with undergarments. I heard my phone vibrate on my bed and glided over to it, setting my clothes on my bed as I did so.
Well alrighty then. I'll be right over there. ;) Gotta keep my bumbles safe right? Haha. - Robert
Oh, no. I'm fine alone. Don't worry about me. - Rion
I sent the text and quickly slipped out of my clothes to put on the clean set. My phone vibrated again.
Too late. On my way. About to pull out right now. - Robert
Don't! - Rion
I set down my phone next to me on my bed and laid down. I instantly fell into a dark sleep.
I woke up later to feel sweat rolling down my face. I wiped it off and looked around. Then I heard the bathroom toilet flush. Great. HE's back. I closed my eyes and rolled back over. That was when I heard footsteps walking towards my room. Oh no. Please don't let him come in here. I kept my eyes shut and tried to pretend to be sleeping. The door opened and the footsteps came to my bed and I felt the bed crease.
"You know, you're so beautiful when you're asleep," the body said. It was Robert.
He pet my head sweetly and then laid down next to me wrapping his arms around me. I cuddled into him, still pretending to be asleep. He kissed my forehead and mumbled something, then cuddled me closer to him. I relaxed and eventually fell back into my deep sleep.
