Annie's p.o.v.

I haven't really been feeling too great.

Mentally, not physically.

I can't believe he actually tried to kiss me... He's never shown any emotions towards me before.

Maybe he just got caught up in the moment.

Is it wrong that I didn't kiss him?

Should I have?

I wonder what Michael thinks.. If he knows.

Why do I care what Michael thinks?

I think I'm overthinking all of this, actually.

Avoiding Ashton is hard considering we live in the same neighborhood and go to the same school.

As if on cue, I looked out my window and saw Ashton making his way down the street, towards where we both live.

We live across from each other, his house a tiny bit farther down the street.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw him. It's the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday and I haven't been anywhere near him, or anyone, all weekend.

Maybe this is a sign I should go and talk to him..

I made my way downstairs and once I had opened my door he was still slowly walking down the street, gingerly putting one foot in front of the other with his head pointed towards the ground as he hummed to himself lightly.

I wanted to say something, but I just simply couldn't force the words to come out of my mouth. And even if I had managed to say something, I have no idea what I would tell him.

I was just watching him make his way to his house, which is kind of creepy.

I wonder what he's thinking about..

Me? Probably not.

I wonder if he came from Michael's house.

Just as I was almost positive I would go unnoticed and Ash would just go home, he hastily glanced back towards my house, almost looking as if he wanted to make sure it was still there, but not wanting to be seen doing it.

He did a double take and then just kind of stared at me.

I got all jittery.

I have to say something now... I can't just stand here and awkwardly keep eye-contact with him.

"Um, sorry. I noticed you walking down the street and I came down to talk to you but when I got here I didn't really know what to say." I walked towards him and he backed away slightly.

"Uh... It's okay." He turned around and started semi-jogging to his house.

Wow... He really didn't want to talk to me.

He was almost to his door step when I called out at him one more time, "Ash, Can we please talk?"

"I-I don't think so." He mumbled and then ran inside his house.

That went great.

I sighed and started making my way back home until I heard the giggles of Luke and Bethany as they walked down the street in my direction.

"Hey, there you are. No one's seen you at all today. What's up?" Bethany asked me as her and Luke perched themselves in front of me.

"Ashton didn't tell you?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Oh, he told us. Well, he told Me and Calum, and I'm pretty sure he just told Michael, But you seem to be taking it worse than he is, considering he's the one who got rejected." Luke chuckled.

"I just feel bad about it." I muttered, scratching the back of my neck.

"You shouldn't, if you're not interested then you're not interested." Bethany said.

"Yeah, but I like Ashton, I don't want to hurt him."

"You like him? Or you like like him..?" Luke raised his eyebrows and smirked.

I gulped, "I don't know. I feel bad, and Ashton is a really nice guy--"

"Trust me, if you like someone, you'll know." Bethany smiled and glanced at Luke.

Luke bit his lip and looked down nervously.

"Oh my gosh, are you guys kidding?!" I groaned, "That's disgusting, keep that away from me."

I started to walk back to my house, completely grossed out by the fact everyone is starting to like each other and get all cozy. I'd like to see how they're gonna act when School rolls back around on Monday.

"Oh, calm down." Bethany chased after me, "We're friends. After all, we are pretty young."

"You're birthday is coming up, Cate and Michael's too... You aren't that young." I sighed.

Michael's Birthday is in November. Cate's is in late September and Bethany's is early September.

Mine is in December, but I'm a year older than all the others so I'll be turning fifteen, not fourteen. Cal's is in January and Luke is the young one, his birthday is in July. He's in the same year as the others because he started school early.

"Well, we're definitely close." Luke said shyly.

"Yeah, Well I wonder what Steven will think about this new close friendship you guys have developed." I scoffed.

I didn't bother to wait around to hear what Luke and Bethany had to say about my rude remark. I don't care if I was being mean, there's no way their relationship would be accepted at school.

I decided to jog to Michael's house, I know he'd agree with me on all this stupid feelings crap everyone has gotten themselves into.

On my way, when I passed Luke's place, I saw Calum and Cate playing some stupid game in Luke's driveway.

I rolled my eyes at their flirtatious giggling and smiling at each other.

I knocked on Michael's door and Mrs. Clifford smiled once she saw it was me who was standing in their doorway.

"Can I talk to Michael please." I grinned innocently at her.

"Sure, I believe he's upstairs in his room if you'd like to take a look."

Once I was up there I just barged into his room, even though the door was closed.

"We need to talk." I said simply, making Michael jump from his current position of staring at his laptop to staring at the person who had just barged into his room obnoxiously.

"Couldn't agree more." He said to me, he still seemed a bit shocked I was here, but I could tell he was happy that I had shown up.
