Chapter 8

Light and shadows danced over Baileys closed eyes. She felt stiff as a board, but she was comfy and laying down. She squeezed her eyes tighter before letting them slide open. The light was bright and she quickly shut them again with a groan. Having let the initial shock of light pass over she opened them slowly, allowing her eyes to adjust to the light. As she yawned and stretched her arms, her eyes became more focused taking in her surroundings. This isn't my room she thought looking around. The first thing she saw was that she was in a room and in a bed. This caught Bailey off guard. Last she remembered was flying on a horse.

“Oh my GOD, it wasn’t a dream. I was actually on a horse who flies. What is going on? Where the hell am I?”

She looked to the source of the light flowing through the open wall. Where there should have been windows with glass, was huge archways that curved outward, with an extension like a balcony coming right off the open room. The archways ran from the floor to the ceiling, the ceiling's were probably 20 feet high. As she scanned the room she noticed that nothing looked the way it should in someones bedroom; a very old and beautiful wardrobe on the wall opposite where she lay, looked like it was made from the trunk of a single tree, it was large at the bottom and thinned out as it stretched upward with carvings of animals and dancers, ponds and trees covered its sides and the door, at the top it looked like hands coming from the top, they extended the length to the ceiling making it look like it grew in that very spot.

branches maybe?” She let the thought linger as she continued to peer around the room. Next to the grown in place wardrobe was a floor mirror standing as tall as 10 feet, it had the same look as the wardrobe, she continued to look around and she noticed that everything in this room looked like a tree growing right in the spot they sit, the chairs the table, they all appeared as if they grew right from the spot it stood.

“About time you woke up lazy ass up, we were worried you were going to turn into sleeping beauty and need a kiss to wake you up” said a familiar husky voice as the door swung open.

“How long have I been out of it?” she asked her throat a little soar from the dryness

“2 days in fact, like I said, ‘sleeping beauty’!” Ben walked towards her and sat on the bed, she noticed his hair was done differently and he had on very odd looking clothes, almost like a dress but with pants; his shirt was an ash grey and hung to his knees his pants matched, he also had on funny little slippers, as she took in his appearance she giggled.

“What's so funny” he asked curiously

“Your clothes! What are you wearing? Have I been out so long that fashion has magically erupted into dresses for men?” She asked giggling.

“Oh” he said “This outfit is what we wear around here, if you think this is funny” He paused gesturing to his outfit “you should see what we wear when we get all gussied up for a celebration! Not to scar you for life, let’s just say we have some funny hats! He replied smiling at her

“Wow, he's being nice” she thought “that's something new and kinda creepy actually”

So where am I, obviously I'm not at home like I should be, and so I must be somewhere aren’t I, or am I dead?”

“No, your not dead, altho for making me wait for 2 days you should have been the moment you woke up.”

“Okay, whatever I'll bite, where am I?”

“You mean you haven't figured that out yet, sheesh, I thought you were slow before but.” he paused with a mocking look on his face. “You miss are in the White tree valley.” finishing his sentence off like he was talking to a baby in a gew gew voice.
