Chapter 13

Bailey woke up to the dancing leaves casting shadows in her room. She stretched out and yawned preparing to fully be awake. She could hear a clatter in the kitchen, it sounded just like when her mom was taking her anger out by baking. The pots and pans were protesting and probably complaining as Ben thrashed around the kitchen. This made Bailey smile. She tossed aside the blankets, throwing on her favorite jeans and a V-neck navy blue T-shirt that she knew revealed a little bit of cleavage. She slipped on her slippers and walked to the kitchen.

As she expected the kitchen was a disaster, flour and eggs covered the marble counters, little piles of flour spread around the floor continuing to mound up when Ben moved something on the counter. Bailey walked up and sat at the bar stool to the island. Ben didn’t even look at her.

He took a cup from the rack and poured her a coffee, placed it in front of Bailey and slid the cream and sugar over to her spreading more of the flower to the floor. She dolled up her coffee and stirred it.

“Good morning” she said in a light feather voice “thank you for the coffee. Smells wonderful in here”

“Mmmhmm” was his reply

“Oh for crying out loud, whats going on?” she asked with a bit of bite in her tone.

“Nothing” he said letting a dish bang against the counter. An echo ricoched around the house.

“Bull” she said smiling, she knew he was mad at her “Listen, I am sorry about yesterday. I wont run off again, I know your mad”

“I'm not mad”

“I don’t believe you, talk to me or I’ll throw this coffee at you and I mean it, you know I do”

“Don't waste coffee. There is nothing to talk about and nothing that needs to be said.” he paused, Bailey waited for the rant to begin, she could see him boiling over at the edges, a slow smile of amusement crept on her face.

“Do you have any idea what you put me through? Any at all?”

“I am sorry Ben, I didn’t mean to make you worry”she said trying to lighten the tone in the room.

“Put me through! Put me through!” he yelled dropping a frying pan “Bailey you could have DIED”

This caught Bailey by surprise, she had no idea that that was possible. “What do you mean Ben, how could I have died?” she asked sarcastically

“You can't mess with things here Bailey, that “Garden” you were in, do you know what that did to you?”

Bailey smiled at the memory, she definitely remembered but couldn’t figure out why he was acting this way. “Yes I remember”

“You think this is funny Bailey? That garden you were in, was minutes away from completely dehydrating your body, you literally would have orgasm to DEATH! God, why don’t you listen to me when I say shit! HUH? I told you it wasn’t safe here, and then to top that off you met him!”

“I really don’t understand whats going on. For one how can someone orgasm to death? I mean that’s not possible”

“It is possible, it is entirely possible, all the fluids in your body were being sucked out to feed that garden” Bailey suddenly felt cold, she thought he was just pissed because she ran off, but now-Now she knew why. She really could have died. Bailey felt guilty, she became upset with herself, and yet she could still feel the effects from the garden which made her smile inside. She was thankful for Ben to save her, her own personal hero. She was trying very hard to hide the feeling crawling inside her, tingling to every crevasse it could touch, when she looked up at Ben, and saw something.
