"Stretch your legs Cassandra! Longer!" My dance teacher yells as I take what she has said into consideration, even though I am trying to focus on remembering the steps to this dance that we just learned three days ago. I dance my hardest making sure I use my face and keeping my spacing as well as my posture in mind. When class is over Mrs. Tenali asks me to stay behind.

"What's up?" I ask her.

"Have you heard of Harrison lake intense dance comp?"

"I haven't. Isn't Harrison lake in BC?"

"Yes,"

"That's on the west coast it's so far away!" I state.

"I want you to audition."

"What-"

"They train you in all types of dance depending on what you chose." She tells me. "Many people who train there over the summers get noticed by dance companies."

"Seriously?"

"They have a big show at the end of the summer where every person shows off the dance types they have been working on, that's when the companies come to watch."

"That sounds like fun!"

"Would you like to audition?"

"I have to ask my mom first, but if she says yes I think I'm going to."

"Alright well if you can I will help you with the auditioning process. Basically what you have to do is give a write up about how long you have been dancing, why you dance and what you want to do in the future. Then you record yourself dancing the best solo you have and fill out their application sheet and send everything to the address on their site."

"I'll look more into it." I thank her and rush out of the studio. Most of the girls are gone already not that any of them would wait around for me. I walk out to my mothers car and hop in the front seat.

"How was class?"

"Good. Mrs. Tenali told me about this intense dance camp in Harrison lake."

"That's in BC."

"I know but I think it would be an amazing opportunity! I mean she said that the companies come to the summer end show and some people get noticed."

"Honey we've gone through this, I know that dance is a passion of yours but you need to be more realistic when it comes to picking a career."

"Please mom!

"I'll look more at it tonight." Mom states. I thank her as we pull into our drive way. Living only five minutes away from the studio has it's perks! I walk into the empty house and upstairs to my room. I sit down at my desk and finish my homework before getting into bed. My eyes slowly drift shut as everything that happened today slowly fades out of my mind.

"Alright you ready?" Mrs. Tenali asks me.

"Yes." She clicks record on the camera as the music starts. I dance to the seduction song giving it my all. I smile at the camera a couple times as the music fades away and I bow. She turns off the camera and rushes over to me.
