Chapter 43 - watch your back

"I don't know but I feel like somebody is like watching me Zi, you know how you said that your mom's boyfriend was following you? I just can't shake the feeling that I'm being followed too, Rolo said the same thing to me the other day. It's some shady shit going on and I don't think it's going to end well either." ReZay said as she continued to brush Jaleecia's hair out.

We had been just chilling watching movies all day at her apartment because we haven't really been hanging out with each other lately but I couldn't help but feel unsafe now because I could be putting the people I love in danger and I don't want anything to happen to ReZay, Lele or Rolo.

"This can't be happening right now. Yesterday he was following me again and I finally decided to say something to him and he kind of threatened me, I'm not sure if it was an empty threat to try and scare me or if he was serious but I just don't want you guys in my bullshit." I paused.

"If something happened to you guys I wouldn't be able to live knowing I had something to do with this." I vented to Re as I put my hands on both sides of my head. "Oh no... Baby don't even think that way. You are my best friend! If I'm dying , you dying." She joked. "Girl you are too much, that's why I love your black ass." I chuckled, feeling a bit more relaxed. "I just got a whole lot of Melanin boo. Don't hate!" She laughed. "Ouch Mommy your brushing my forehead again." Jaleecia whined. "I am? Oh I'm sorry baby. Mommy just got distracted." She said leaning Le's head back and kissing her forehead.

Hearing the door open we all turned our heads to the door seeing who it was coming inside.

"Wassuh Ziare." Rolo said loudly as he walked up to me and gave me a hug and a kiss on the forehead like he always does. "Daddy." Jaleecia yelled to him as she stood up from ReZays lap and jumping on Rolo.

Daddy? When in the hell did this happen!?

"Wassuh baby, your hair is pretty." Rolo said picking Le up and kissing all over her face. "Thank you." She chuckled. "Mommy did it, I told her to make me look like a princess." She exclaimed as she ran her fingers through his curls. "You do look like a princess, my princess." He said as he walked over to the kitchen with her still in his arms, just avoiding ReZay, they are so childish.

"Since when did Jaleecia call him daddy?" I asked lowly so Le wouldn't hear me. "The other day we were sitting down eating and she just asked out the blue could she call him that and he was more than happy to except. I can't be mad at that either, I'm kind of glad she has a father figure in her life. I don't want for Le to grow up looking for love in all the wrong places just because she didn't get that type of love a daughter gets from her father. If she's happy with him as her dad then I'm happy too." ReZay finished before leaning back and flipping the channel to E.

"That's sweet and why is Rolo ignoring you?" I asked being nosey, she rolled her eyes. "Bitch because a argument we had the other day, just petty stuff we were arguing over and during the process I kind of through his phone at the window and it shattered... No biggie." ReZay nervously laughed knowing I was about to scold her for doing something so stupid. I gave her the face I usually make when I'm about to give her a speech and she rolled her eyes and fanned her hand at me. "I don't wanna hear it right now Zi." She said before I could speak. "No your going to hear it right now." I said, she shook her head. "Look Zi I already know what your going to say can't you just wait to give me this speech tomorrow when I'm actually in the mood to hear you preach?" She complained. "Fine, I'll wait until tomorrow morning when I wake. Then I'll call you." I said getting on my phone and texting my baby.

"Daddy come watch some movies with us please." Jaleecia begged Rolo as she dragged him towards the couches me and Re were sitting on. "Fine only one movie because Daddy is tired." He said plopping on the other couch besides us with Le in his lap. "Okay we just gone watch Princess and the frog." She said excitedly as she grabbed the remote and going on Netflix in search of the movie. "You not gone speak to me?"Re asked with attitude, I rolled my eyes already knowing what was going to happen.

He was silent. "Oh so you don't hear me?" Re said louder, Jaleecia wasn't paying them any mind she was focused on trying to find that movie. "What shorty? What do you want?" Rolo asked with more attitude. "You heard what I said, stop acting like a bitch and act like an adult." She said. "Shut the fuck up talking to me dude for real cause you starting to piss me off. If you ain't talking about buying me another phone I don't wanna talk." Rolo said louder. He started tightening his jaw and shaking his leg, something he always did when he'd try and calm himself down.

"Jaleecia go run your bath for me please I'll be there in a minute and then when your finished with your bath we can watch Princess and the frog alright?" I said to Le. "Okay Tt , I'll go run my bath." She said before putting the remote down and running to the back.

Jaleecia didn't need to hear anything that ReZay and Rolo were saying. It was unnecessary.

"Fuck your phone the hell? Don't text in front of my face while I'm talking to you and maybe you'd still have your phone." She yelled, Rolo chuckled. "Get ya best friend right now Ziare cause she been trying me for the past two days. I'm about two seconds away from hurting her feelings on God." Rolo said calmly before standing up and heading to the back.

"What the hell is your problem ReZay why do you keep trying him knowing how he is?" I asked in disbelief because she started to smile once he left. "Girl I stopped being mad at him the night we got home from the mall. I just like seeing him get mad cause it's sexy." She laughed.

"He gone beat your ass you keep playing." I joked. "He ain't gone do nothing, I'm really just trying to have some make up sex." She said seriously. "Have you taken a nap?" I asked. "No." She said scrunching up her face. "Well bitch you need one. You need to reevaluate your thoughts cause you acting dumb." I said standing up and getting my things. "I know what I'm doing." She exclaimed. "Good bye silly, tell my neice I said Good night and I love her." I said walking out of her door and out the apartment complex.

Getting into my car my phone had vibrated indicating I had a text.
