-chapter 36-
I smile at the four girls standing in front of me. Fresh tears brim my eyes. I thought all the salt water in me was gone but I guess I was wrong.
First I say goodbye to Emmeline. I squeeze her tight as a few tears drip onto her shirt.
"When Nightro reappears again, I want you to have him," I say.
Emmeline pulls away from the hug to look at me. A single tear slides down her face, a small smile on her lips; I know that means "thank you."
Next is Alice. We weren't very close but we were still friends. I hug her tight and say a small thank you.
Then it's Marlene. I hug her the tightest and whisper "thank you" in her ear. She knows what that means. Thank you, for keeping my secret. Thank you, for being there for me. Thank you, for being my friend.
Lily is last. Before I ever hug her tears are sliding down her face. She grabs me in a bone-crushing hug, but I don't say anything. She sobs against my shoulder, and I let her.
After five minutes of Lily crying, I pull away. "If I ever see you again, you better be married to James."
A smile tugs at Lily's lips. "I sure hope so." She whispers.
I look around at the girls I've only known for six months. We have come a long way.
"I still can't believe your mom is making you live with her in France."
That's it. That's the lie I had to tell them. They don't know my adoptive parents are dead. They don't know that Voldemort is after me. At least, not all of them. Only Marlene. I told her to tell them the truth once I was gone.
I nod. I walk to the door. I open the door. I step outside into the hall. I turn around. I look at my four best friends. They look back at me. I look at the room I've lived in and called my home. I turn around, closing the door behind me.
I sigh and head down the stairs.
•••
"You sure you have everything?"
"Yes, James. I'm sure."
"One hundred percent sure?"
"One hundred and fifty percent sure."
"How about two hundred?"
"I don't know!"
"Okay, okay," James says. "I just want to make sure you have everything."
"And I appreciate that," I say, "but I really need to get going."
James smiles sadly. "Okay."
I hug Glasses as tight as I can. He hugs be back just as tight.
"I'll really miss you," I say into his shoulder.
"I'll miss you too, Ass."
I smile as James lets me go. I step down the line of boys and stop in front of Remus next. I stand on my tip toes to hug him.
"I'll miss you," he says.
"I'll miss you, too, Rem," I say before I add, "Oh, and I know your secret. You're not very good at hiding the signs." I pull away and see Remus's shocked expression. All I do is laugh.
I step in front of Sirius next. I can't even look at him without bursting into tears; so instead I look at my shoes.
"Hey," my chin is tilted upwards by Sirius's index finger. "It'll be ok, ok?"
"You don't know that," I say, tears starting to brim my eyes. "How can you say that? How can you say that when you know what's going on? How can you be-"
I'm cut off by Sirius's lips touching mine. "You talk to much," he says when he pulls away.
"Sorry," I say.
Sirius just nods.
"I guess I should get going, huh?" I say.
Sirius looks down. "Yeah," he says in a small voice.
"Hey," I say.
Sirius looks up. "Don't be sad if you don't want me to be sad."
"What?"
"You have no idea of the affect you have on me." A tear slides down my cheek, leaving a wet trail behind. "When you're sad, I become sad. When you're angry, I become angry. When you're happy, I'm happy too. You are my life. Merlin! You make me crazy, Logan! I love you so much, and I don't want to live in a world without you."
THE END
Just kidding. Though, this is how I'm going to leave it. I want you to decide what happens after this.
I'm really sorry I couldn't finish this story. I just wasn't feeling like the plot made sense and the characters are so badly developed. I just...
I really want to continue writing fan fiction though. I've thoroughly enjoyed writing this story. Any ideas on what I could do next? Maybe another Harry Potter one?
I know I'm a shitty author because I've abandoned this piece so many times, but thank you to those of you who have stuck around. I really appreciate it. 💜
So now, here's a little bit about myself:
My name is Hannah, and I live in America. I am 14 years old. I started my fandom account on September 1st, 2014. My account is now a little over a year old. (Psst... Maybe go check it out? @/newtswand (and @/theloricrunner) on Instagram) I love Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Divergent, I Am Number Four, Percy Jackson, and so many more.
Um... I guess that's all.
This journey has been fun, but all journeys have to come to an end eventually.
Ily all.
