-chapter 11-

In the past month, I've learned more spells than I could've imagined. Lily, Marlene, Alice, and sometimes Emmeline, have taught me most of them. Sirius has taught me a select few. Classes have been hard; harder than I thought they would be. I work hard at all of them, even though I hate must of them. I've been told I'm a great witch, even though I'm Muggle-born. Whatever.

My relationship with the boys has grown. James is a humorous git. Remus is just... Remus. He's not really a big problem. Peter is an issue. I feel like he's always up to something. I just can't trust him. And Sirius... Well. He's another story. While we've stopped getting into huge arguments, we've somehow managed to get ourselves into prank wars against James numerous times. We're forced to work together to win the war. It sucks.

Our relationship hasn't gone farther than that, though. We agreed to stop at friends, 'best friends' as he put it, after he tried to kiss me.

I look over at Sirius next to me. We sit alphabetical in every class, and seeing as I'm a C and he's a B, we sit next to each other. I watch him doodle a small picture on spare parchment.

"Miss Coffey?" I'm brought back to reality by Professor McGonagall's voice.

I look up. "Yes?"

"The answer to the question?"

"Huh?" I hear snickers behind me. I turn around and see Jessica Schwind and Bailey Stout laughing and point at me. I turn back around and face McGonagall. "I'm sorry, can you repeat the question?"

"Maybe if you paid attention, you would know the question. Five points from Gryffindor for lack of focus," she says to me. She faces the class once again. "Moving on."

I zone out the rest of Transfiguration and, luckily, I'm not called on again.

The bell rings. I quickly grab my stuff and walk quickly out of the room, away from the snickers and laughter. Tears start to fill my eyes but I quickly make them disappear.

"Astrid!" I hear behind me. I slow down, knowing who it is. "Hey, why'd you leave so fast? I thought you said I could walk with you to every class, since we do have all of them together." Sirius pouts.

"I did say that, I'm well aware," I say. "But in case you didn't notice, I was getting laughed at back there."

"I noticed," he says. "But I didn't think you would care."

"Well I did and still do," I snap. I don't normally get mad when people make fun of me, but for some reason I was very upset that Jessica and Bailey laughed at me. I look over and slightly up at Sirius' expression. It reads confused, shocked and upset. "I'm sorry," I sigh. "I don't normally get mad at that kind of stuff, but something's been nagging me that makes me pissed at every little thing."

"It's alright," Sirius says, rounding a corner; I realize he's taking one of his many shortcuts to Potions. "You said something's been nagging you?"

"Yeah," I say. "I'm not really sure what, though." I think for a second. "I also have the feeling that something's going to happen... Something big. And it's going to ruin everything."

"Oh," he says. "Has this ever happened before?"

I think for a second. "Yes." I say quietly. I'm not sure if Sirius heard me or not.

"Has your feelings and the nagging actually turned out to me true?" He asks with wide eyes.

"Yes." I say under my breath again. How could I be so stupid!? This has happened before! God, Astrid! You're so stupid!

I stop dead in my tracks. Sirius keeps walking a few feet and then, realizing I stopped, turns around and walks back to me.

"What's the matter?"

"I'm, uh, not feeling to well," I lie. "I better go back to the Common Room."

"No way you're going back there alone," at my look of confusion, Sirius continues, "we don't want anything to happen to you, do we, Beautiful?"

I shake my head. "So we're skipping class?" I ask, excited.

"Pretty much," Sirius laughs a little. "Never skipped class, huh?"

"Nope," I say. "Although one day I played hookie," I say, but I continue after I see confusion spread across Sirius's face. "I told my mum I was going to school and went shopping instead."

He laughs. "Nice one."

"Thanks."

We walk back to the Common Room, and as soon as I enter, I remember why we came back here.

"You can go back to class, now," I tell Sirius.

"No way," he says as he plops down on the couch. "I did not walk all the here to have to go back to class. We are going to sit here and discuss your feelings of worry."

"You sound like my mother," I scoff.

"Now, Astrid," Sirius says in a woman's voice. "You must not go around snogging boys all day, do you under stand?"

I laugh. "Yes, Mother."

"Good, good," Sirius says. "Now, onto the real problem."

I glare at him and then sit down next to him, placing my things on the chair next to the couch.

"When was the last time you had this feeling?" He asks. "And when did it happen?"

I hesitate. "I was nine when it last happened..."
