-chapter 6-
I stare into Sirius's eyes. They're swirling with emotions. People say the eyes are the gateway to the soul, but I think Sirius's eyes are the gateway to much more.
"Hello, Beautiful." Sirius drags me into an empty corridor. (A/N: Most of the corridors are empty anyway. Duh. Everyone's at the feast.) He stops when he reaches a door. He plops me down in front of him. I look up at him. I notice that he's not wearing his robes either.
"You're not wearing your robes." I point out.
"You're not either." He says.
"I know."
"How come?"
"I fell asleep on the train and didn't have enough time. Why aren't you wearing yours?"
"You fell asleep on my lap-"
"Did not!" I butt in.
"Okay, okay. You were asleep on my lap after I picked you up and placed you there. You were too cute to move so I didn't change when Remus and James did."
"Fair enough."
"Yeah." Sirius rubs the back of his neck with his left hand.
"So why'd you drag me here?" I ask.
"I heard you calling my name... And I want to teach you something."
"Teach me something?"
"Yeah," he says, rubbing the back of his neck again. "You have your wand with you?"
I reach into my messenger bag, which I forgot I have, and pull out my wand. "Great," he says. He pulls out his wand from his pocket. He turns around and puts his hand of the knob of the door. It's locked. "Alohomora." He whispers under his breath. He turns the knob again and it opens. He pulls the door open and steps inside the room. I follow.
The room is a decent size, but it's empty... Or more like abandoned. There are desks, but they're pushed off to the side. There's a chalk board in the front with smeared chalk on it.
The door closes behind me, making me jump. "It's okay," Sirius says. "That was me."
"What're we doing here?" I ask under my breath.
"I'm going to teach you magic." Sirius states simply.
"What?" I ask, confused. "You're going to teach me magic? Why?"
"Because you need to learn."
"I thought I'd learn everything when I started classes."
"You will," Sirius says. "But you need to learn how to use your wand and cast simple spells before you go into the classroom and make a fool out of yourself."
"And you're going to teach me?"
"Yes."
"Okay." I can't believe I just agreed to let him teach me. Sirius Black was going to teach me.
"Let's start with the basics," he says, holding his wand out in front of him. I mimic him, then remember my bag. I take it off and toss it to the side, going back to mimicking Sirius. "Take your wand and swish and flick." He does a swish and flick movement in the air. I do the same. This all feels natural to me: using a wand, being at this school, and maybe even having Sirius Black teach me magic.
"Okay, do that while saying wingardium leviosa."
I swish and flick my wand while saying,"Wingarduim leviosa."
