"In the kitchen Tate!"You called back to him before sitting down starting to eat your breakfast rather quickly because you wanted to hang out with him of course.

"Morning."He said with his charming smile and cute dimples present. "I hope you don't mind, I let myself in."He frowned looking to your Mom. "I'm Tate, I met [Y/N] and John yesterday. You must be her sister?"He asked feigning innocence.

"Oh my goodness no, I'm [Y/N]'s mother Karen. It's a pleasure to meet you Tate."She spoke holding her hand out to shake his obviously rather flattered by his words. "It's nice to see that [Y/N] is making new friends here already. Please come on in, are you hungry? You can eat if you would like."She offered motioning to her plate of food.

"No thanks, I just ate but I will have a cup of coffee while I wait for [Y/N] to finish hers."Tate smiled before winking to you causing you to look away in an attempt to hide your blush. It was killing you that he got to you that easily just with a simple glance, you would almost swear that he was a mythological siren begging you to get closer and then BAM! You were in his stomach before you even had time to process what had happened.

"I'll be finished in a minute."You smile returning to your breakfast and coffee motioning to the spot next you when he got his. "How did you sleep?"You asked understanding that you wouldn't be able to ask more in depth questions about last night until they were alone.

"I don't know I was unconscious most of the time."Tate laughed running his hands through his messy blonde locks as he stretched in the chair. "And how did you sleep?"He asked with minor concern tones underlying in the question.

"I slept okay it was waking up that sucked."You joked even though it was secretly the truth, but you didn't want neither him nor your mother worrying about you. Finishing your breakfast you started downing your coffee because you desperately needed it this morning; Along with some painkillers to take the edge of your headache away. Going over to the sink you started rinsing off your plate, and cup when Moira started to take them out of your hands.

"I've got this miss, please allow me."Moira said with a simple smile as she started immediately washing them not even looking or acknowledging Tate the entire time he was in the same room as her.

"Thank you."You said handing them right over to her, realizing that you would have to get used to this. "Mom, Tate and I are going to hang out."You said quickly grabbing his arm pulling him out of the kitchen. "So show me the house, you used to live here so give me the tour."You said smirking when you were finally alone.

"Alright, the master tour."Tate said in a mock British accent unable to hide his laugh. "But you're really okay right?"He asked stopping in front of you looking into your [Y/E/C] eyes deeply. "I was fucking worried about you last night, I stayed as long as I could but I had to get home before someone realized I was gone."He frowned.

"Yeah I'm fine, a little sore with a headache but I'm okay. I'm just sorry you had to see that, also can I ask how you got into the house? Did you hear the noise from next door or was it something else?"You ask all at once.

"I came in through the window, there is a lattice with roses growing on it so I just climbed that right up. I heard the screaming while I was taking our dogs for a walk."Tate lied with confidence. "I had to make sure you were okay, then I saw you bleeding and I heard more screaming. I didn't know how to react so I just started helping you in the only way I could think of. Oh and don't worry I looked away the whole time I changed you into your nightgown, I don't want you to think I'm some kind of pervert or anything."He explained. "What exactly happened?"He inquired sadly.

"When my father gets drunk he turns violent, then he usually leaves in search of drugs and women. We moved here for a fresh start and it is just not working out the way we intended. By the way do you know of a good counselor for them so they might work it out? Mom wants to continue to try but we don't know anyone in the area yet. So I promised her I would ask you."You asked biting your lower lip anxiously.

"Sure I know a great guy he will even come here to make it discrete, his name is Ben. He worked with me for a while and so I am confident that he will be able to make a difference."Tate smiled touching your shoulder trying to comfort you. "Now let's go check out the basement."He said in a spooky voice. "Unless you are afraid of ghosts."He warned you playfully.

"I ain't afraid of no ghost."You laughed making a Ghostbuster's reference causing him to laugh with you shaking his head. "Actually I am fascinated by spirits and I have even encountered a few in the cemetery back home. I liked to go there because it was more peaceful to hang out with them rather than the living. Most people who are alive don't like me for some reason."You scoffed shrugging your shoulders as you followed him down the stairs to the basement.

"It's probably because you see things differently than they do and that scares them. They don't want to think that you might be out of the ordinary. Often times the unknown frightens them so they want to erase it. That is why normal people scare me."Tate said rolling his eyes inannoyance. "So down here is a lot of really cool stuff but mostly I just wanted to take you to a quiet place so I can get to know you better."He admitted hanging his head a little bit smiling out of the corner of his mouth. "By the way I haven't gotten a chance to tell you that I am obsessed with your sweatshirt."He laughed. "Nirvana is the best."

"They are one of my favorites, top five for sure."You said excitedly glad that you had found something in common finally. "My favorite song by them is Lithium. What is yours?"You asked sliding your back on the wall sitting down on the floor in the one area that had natural light illuminating the room.

"I'm so happy cause today I found my friends, they're in my head. I'm so ugly but that's okay cause so are you. Not really though, you are actually really beautiful."Tate said singing the opening to Lithium until he decided to compliment you.

"Nah, thanks for the compliment though."You said giggling a bit looking up at him before he bent down before you.

"I mean it [Y/N], you are extremely beautiful you should see yourself how I see you."Tate said tucking a strand of hair that had fallen out of your bun, behind your ear. At that point you were speechless, you didn't know what to say in response to him. When he went to take away his hand from your cheek you placed yours on top of it.

"Thank you Tate, I mean it."You said softly unable to look away from his soft brown eyes, they were so beautiful but it was almost like they had this great pain behind them that you wanted to erase. Slowly he leaned in and it was like he was going to kiss you when suddenly there was a loud metallic crash causing you to jump and knock your head against his. "Ow...I'm sorry..."You apologized before struggling to get to your feet to inspect the sound. "What in the hell was that?"You asked before an old gasoline can came flying at your face in a matter of seconds.
