Nothing Can Stop Me

Tate's POV:

'Friend?! Just a friend?!' I thought to myself, seething deep down in my ghostly bones. Did the other night mean nothing to her?! I saved her life and her mothers from the scum of the earth, and I was just a friend to her. What more did she want from me? I know I'm not living but she doesn't know that yet, and right now she doesn't need to know. I haven't even seen her in a week, she hasn't come downstairs to even check on me. Now that I can be up and about I find out she is hanging with some guy. Who did he think he was? I could teach him a lesson...but I won't. I am desperately trying to be different than the man I was before. I want her to be happy, and I want to be the one to make her happy. So if I have to stay away then I will.

Sighing I walked away from them, going back downstairs where the rest of us stayed most of the time. I felt the anger building inside of me, and I had to get it out or I was going to hurt someone. The thoughts that filled my mind frightened me. I kicked the gas can that still laid on the floor after Violet tossed it at us earlier. It flew across the room hitting the wall, denting deeply in the side of the metal. Everyone stopped to stare at me but I didn't care anymore, I had to let it go for her sake. Viciously I started punching the brick wall over and over again, screaming in pain and anguish. My knuckles were bloody and dripping but I continued on until I just couldn't breathe anymore. Slinking to the floor I sat there, tears falling silently from my eyes. I went to wipe them away but I only smeared my own blood in it's place.

"You really are pathetic, I think you have lost your touch."Hayden said from behind me a cigarette between her fingers."Before you would have just taken care of business and had no remorse. Where are your balls?"She asked squatting down next to me taking a drag before handing it over to me. I took it from her letting the smoke fill my lungs, the nicotine giving me a short lived high.

"It's different this time, I'm different. I want to do things right this time. I lost Violet because I did everything wrong. I listened to others and tried to help them but I fucked it up. Ben told me that I have to move on from the past and find something to look forward to in the future. [Y/N] is my future I can tell, but I feel like I might lose her to that guy who ever he is."I said biting my lower lip harshly trying not to cry again, not in front of Hayden.

"Stop, just stop. If you aren't going to put on your big boy pants and deal with it then I will."She said putting the end of the cigarette out in her hand. "Don't waste your energy, I won't kill him."She said rolling her eyes knowing I was going to ask. "Stay here, we don't need her blaming you. This is the last time I will clean up for you."She scoffed disappearing almost as fast as she had appeared. While I worried about what she was going to do, I was happy that I wasn't going to be the one doing it. She was the only one that really helped me when I messed up, but occasionally she wasn't the best influence.

After a few moments I decided I would make myself unknown and follow her just to make sure that she wasn't harming the guy, there in turn hurting [Y/N]. I heard Hayden screaming and carrying on but I wasn't close enough to hear what she was saying.

"YOU ARE A WHORE! HOW COULD YOU DO THAT TO SOMEONE WHO WOULD GIVE YOU THEIR ALL WITHOUT QUESTION FOR THIS PRETTY BOY?! I SAW THE WAY YOU WERE LOOKING AT HIM, DROOLING OVER THOSE MUSCLES. IT WAS DISGUSTING! HOW DARE YOU BRING HIM INTO THIS HOUSE WITH YOUR SAVIOR INJURED DOWNSTAIRS, YOU HAVEN'T EVEN VISITED HIM IN A WEEK! YOU DON'T DESERVE TO BE IN THE SAME ROOM AS HIM! LET ALONE BREATHING...."She screamed loudly. I started running up the stairs faster but not fast enough. "YOU ARE COMING WITH ME BITCH!"She cried out as she grabbed [Y/N] by the hair dragging her into the bathroom. I tried to get there before the door locked but I couldn't. The guy got up from the bed banging on it trying to get her out of there, I was wondering why he wasn't asking me any questions but I then remembered he couldn't see me.

"[Y/N]!!!"Jason cried out backing up and slamming his body into the door over and over again but it wasn't budging. It was build so long ago that it's sturdiness wasn't going to allow for any of that. Taking a deep breath I appeared in the room but it was too late, Hayden was already gone and she was passed out on the floor bleeding.

Cursing that I even thought about letting Hayden scare this joker off; I had to take care of it. Looking down at [Y/N] Ifelt so much pain because I was the cause of this. I didn't know it was going to happen but I allowed it to just the same. Sitting down next to her on the floor I grabbed a ton of toilet paper wrapping her arm in it getting rid of what was left behind. Hayden had viciously carved the word 'whore' into her flesh. I felt sick to my stomach and I wanted to just throw up everywhere. I didn't want to leave her alone so I unlocked the door and slammed it open letting that guy into see her. I had a mission and nothing was going to take that away from me. Appearing downstairs I know nothing can stop me, not even myself.

"HAYDEN!"I called out with intense rage that I had only felt once before and that was when I torched my mom's boyfriend then shot up my school. I grabbed an exacto knife that laid on a shelf at the bottom of the stairs. Most of the time when you do harm to a spirit it heals and it's gone rather quickly. However when I did something it stayed for much longer, and maybe that was why most feared me. I saw the horror in her eyes as I located her quickly. Forcing her against the wall I slowly clicked the blade up from the metal. "WHY DID YOU DO THAT?!"I growled from deep in my throat.

"She doesn't appreciate you! Baby we could have so much together! We could scare everyone away and rule this house! Ben and Vivien think they are the King and Queen of our community but they aren't. We have to show them who is the real boss around here. We can do it together! Ben is poisoning your mind, and Violet is trying to make you lose yourself. You can't let them Tate, you are so beautiful you just need to keep who you are inside. The side of you that I have seen. When you tried to get a baby for me, you can do it again. Please Tate...Please."Hayden begged me only disgusting me even more than I was before.

"No Hayden you are the one poisoning my mind, I have made mistakes before and I want to do right this time. I told you that, I don't want you, I don't want the life you promise. I want [Y/N] and to make her happy. If you get in the way of that again, I will make your life even more of a living hell!"I yelled slicing her throat open letting her drop to the floor along with the knife.Turning around I saw Violet standing there watching with an interested look on her face. "What do you want?"I asked bluntly starting to walk past her.

"Tate, I'm not trying to make you lose yourself."Violet said softly grabbing my arm. "I just wanted you to fight for me like you fight for her. You don't even know her, you know everything about me. I was the light in your life once. I-I could be that again. I'm sorry that I pushed you away, I just needed time to think and forgive you. I wasn't happy when I was alive, now I am the happiest I have ever been but I'm lonely too. My parents have the new baby, and I love him but now I am lacking something too. My own kind of love, the kind of love I have with you Tate. Please come back to me, we can be happy again just like before. I love you."She begged softly.

I turned back looking into her eyes and I knew one thing and one thing only; I was fucked.
